A Wild Hide | 1 x 24 documentary | 2010

Role: Director/Producer/Editor - A Brighton based artist commandeers small pockets of land for building dens in, illegally. Inspired by nature the dens are beautiful, created out of natural and recycled materials. The film takes us deep into the English countryside and below the surface of mainstream society. Diversity Bytes | 2 x 15 min documentaries | 2006

Role: Director/Producer/Co-editor – Sagacity Films won a commission from the Arts Council to make two films profiling best practice within Arts Council Projects. Taking it Liveat Slough young people’s centre shows multi-ethnic members devise a breakdance performance at the annual live festival in Slough. A Photographic Archive of Hastings by Grace Lau – is a 21st Century photographic archive of Hastings presented from a colonialist perspective by a female Chinese photographer. See the Potential - Thannington resource Centre | 1 x 8 min doc | 2006

Role: Director/Producer/Co-producer – Afilm created as a resource for Government offices, Local Strategic Partnerships, Voluntary Organisations and Community Groups. The resource shows best practice and is looking at ways voluntary organizations and community groups are involved in Local Area Agreements. The film focus is Thannington Resource Centre that is a resident led project in Kent that has transformed its neighborhood to making it a safer and stronger community. Funded by GOSE. Production Co: Sagacity Films, East Sussex.

Timetravellers | 1 x 8 min documentary | 2004

Role:Writer/Co-director/Co-producer - A pilot for a series of six half hour documentaries based on the recollections of six Brighton residents. A marriage of memory and historical reference, the series offers a unique portrayal of the city as it has been experienced through the twentieth Century. Camera: Sony PD150 DVCam. World of seeds | 1 x 1 min animation | 2000

Role: Director/Project Coordinator - 1 minute poetry animation for ‘Poetry International 2000’. Working with Langley Middle School and poet Libby Housten, in conjunction with the Royal Botanical gardens Kew. Camera: 35mm transferred to Beta. Commissioned by The Royal Mail. Exhibited at The Royal Festival Hall, the Southbank, London, 2000.

Megalopolis | 1 x 2 min animation| | 1995/1996

Role: Director/project Coordinator – 2 minute animation for Bitsa BBC’s Children’sprogramme. Working with 8 year olds from Whitehawk Primary School, Brighton on an idea inspired by Fritz Lang’s Metropolis. The pupils made collage futuristic people and robots. The children worked on the animation filming and sound recording process that was filmed by the Bitsa crew. S-8mm transferred to Beta. Screened with Bitsa Cinematic Bits on BBC1in 1995 and 1996. Funded by the BBC.

Euro Yum Yum | 1 x 4 animation (claymation) | 1992

Role: Director/Project Coordinator – Artswork II is the charitable arm of TVS which aims to bring Art into the community. An animation film project working closely with three tutorial centres and their key tutors. These centres provide tailormade educational curricular for deprived and/or abused and maladjusted 13-17 year old children who have been excluded from mainstream education. Camera: 16mm transferred to Beta. The final film was screened at Lighthouse Media Centre and on TVSouth in 1993. It won a prize and was awarded to the members of each group at The National Young People’s Film CoopFestival held at London’s MOMI the same year. Funded by TVS Artswork, theCommission of European communities and the European Arts Festival.

1990 - 1993 | Teaching | A Basic 16mm Film Production Course | Lighthouse Film and Video | Role: teaching students basic film production skills: Leading technical workshops on the Arriflex 16mm camera and Nagra Sound recorder and giving lectures on film theory. Assisting students in making their own films.

The degree is an in-depth exploration of the genre of documentary and its relationship to other art forms. It covers practical filmmaking and facilitates the development of concepts and practices in other media platforms. Relevant courses taken included; Research and Project Development for Documentary Practice, Film and Media studies and Photography practice.

1983 -1986 (BA) Visual and Performing Arts Brighton University

The degree explores relationships between art forms, specifically theatre, dance, music and visual art. In the final degree show I combined Sculpture and Film and Dance and Film.
