Nowadays, there are many Taiwanesse designers who become famous in the world, such as Jason Wu Wuand Wenlan Chia.HeThey had studied abroad to chase histheir design dreamdream [Aiden2].(Hsu, 3-5).After the talent scout who is well known as The First Lady, Michelle Obama had admired histheir[Aiden3]design talent and wore histheir creations on the public publicplaces, which on Barack Obama’s presidential inauguration (Lin, 1). .[Aiden4] For example, Jason Wu was admired by Michelle Obama who wore his full dress [Aiden5]on Barack Obama’s presidential inauguration; also, whileBesides, Shawn Pan had gotten his chance to show his creations on the Fashion Week of Paris with Louis Vuitton, Chirstian Dior etc.To be a designer, if he or she wants to success and become famous, then the fastest way is make his or her creations being shown on any large occasion. Yet, before his success, he already won second place of the a prize of Newcomer Award Art Apparel dur[Aiden6]ing his student life in University. ThereforeUniversity; therefore, he has his own workroom after graduatinged from Ecoles de la chambreSyndicale de la Parissienne (Mi). (reference);Afterwardsthen, he began to develop his design career cause of the employment depression in France, therefore, he decided to hold his design business and live at New York (Teng,1). He had started his first business by found a factory which product elasticity fabric of dress and rented a layer of an apartment (Teng, 1)..[Aiden7]Nevertheless, he was not like other designers who had to rich parents or supporters, but he had a mother who taught him, found his talent, and supported him (Yang, par14)(reference).

Therefore, he had a hard time to work on his business without any employees, when he had got too many order. Sometimes, he had to ask his mother for help in spite of the fact that , which they were living in two different countries,a thousand of miles apart. After a few years, Shawn Pan and Yufeng Jianhe and his partner[Aiden8]considered to extend theirhis brand in Taiwan. It had brought them to other goal in design. Accordingly,

The achievement in Shawn Pan’s school life
Shawn Pan was born in1972 at Taipei. Like many designers, Shawn also loves to cut and sew things when he was only a boy. Therefore, he said that: “Constantly looking for your talent is a reality ;such as someone born to sing, someone born to be a tone deaf, yet the only things you can do is making it in a little bit better[Aiden9](Mi,par8)." The design talent was discovered by his mother when he was only a child; his mother was the one who support him to chase his dream and provide him to learn more skills(Yang, par.2).

His mother not only taught him how to patterning and sewing, but also found
a designer of cloth flowers to taught him. Not only that, his mother attended in
so many different design courses, made notes, and then taught him by herself (Yang, par10)
After he graduated from Chang Jung Senior High School and to serve as a soldie served in the military, he went to study at Ecoles de la chambreSyndicale de la Parissienne in 1995. In 1998, Shawn Pan was thinking about staying and working in France after he got his academic degree. However, the unemployment rate of France was poor; so, he decided to held his first businesswork at a New York (Teng, 1). factory that produces personal elastic cloth dress in New York (add a referenc[Aiden10]e). Yet, it was boring and cannot show his talent, so he quitted and made his own brand called “Shawn Pan” (Teng, 3). Nevertheless, he had to work without

any assistance because he was unknown and what kind ofhelp, therefore ? his mother had tofor help him sewed the creation in the early days. Even so, he had met Yufeng Jian[Aiden11] at New York Fashion Week in 2001 that is a clothes designer studied in the same university with Shawn Pan in Paris at New York Fashion Week in 2001. Before they met each other, Shawn was holding a business by himself and Yufeng also had his own

business in Californiaboth of them had an experience of start an enterpris[Aiden12]e, so they decided to make a brand together which named as YufengShawn (Mai, 5-9). To hold a business was not simple, but they started to join the Paris Fashion Week and became the first Taiwanese designer famous in Paris. Yet, they did step by step to achieve the dream of their creations show together with Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior and other popular brands on the stage of Paris Fashion Week (Mai,3)
The design style of Shawn Pan
Shawn Pan and Yufenghis partner(same person?) had chosen three dresses to take part of The French Beauty Contest, which the dresses were designed in Hakka totem, Taiwanese cake totem and peony color to interpretation of Taiwan culture (Teng, 4). Yet, Shawn Pan and his partner decided to have foothold not only in Taiwan but Asia. They were holding a fashion show in Taiwan for made a marketing research[Aiden13]. In order to get the chance to let their creations to make a stage pose on Paris Fashion show, they had completed almost one hundred fashionable dresses with six to seven designers (Teng, 5). Shawn Pan used “Taiwan’s Mountains Are Green” to be his design theme to present traditional aboriginal costume (Teng, 5). He loves to use the notion and symbol of eastern culture’sculture

notion and symbol onon his creations. Therefore, he had said “design is like open the hydrant when you in need it will outflow; if nothing come out, then precipitate few days, it will endless.”(Teng, 5) For him, those eastern culture’s sources are the most important inspiration to him;not only because he loves eastern culture and Taiwanese native culture, but he also wants to make more people learn our culture(Teng,5). . Even the process is hard and fairly complicated, Shawn Pan keep his faith to achieve his goal. As other famous designers, such as Jason Wu, Shawn Pan was unknown and had to work hard by himself before he become famous in Paris. However, he never thought of giving up and never blamed anyone for his failures. Therefore, his experiences encouraged peoplewe[Aiden15] should not have to be afraid of chasing our dream without trying hard and go through a lot of failure as himShawn Pan.
