“SUPPORTING CONSERVATION AND EDUCATION”
MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION FORM
PURPOSES:The general purposes of the Nantucket Anglers’ Club shall be to promote Nantucket fresh and salt water angling from both boats and beach; to foster and conduct fishing tournaments of all kinds; to promote and encourage conservation of marine fisheries and the preservation and maintenance of beaches, marshland, etc.; to acquire by purchase, lease or otherwise to own, hold, use, maintain, improve and operate and to sell, lease or otherwise dispose of real and personal property, all for the use and enjoyment of the members of the Club.
MEMBERSHIP:Membership in this Club shall be open to any person of good character who has demonstrated an active interest in sports fishing and/or conservation, sponsored by two members in good standing and approved by a vote of the Board of Directors. The application must be signed personally by the applicant and his two sponsors and delivered to the Club office or mailed to the Club. A member of the Board of Directors or paid employee may not sponsor a membership application. All members are expected to participate fully in all Club activities, including hosting one Friday night per year. Applications not acted upon by June 1st of each year must be resubmitted by the applicant unless otherwise notified by the Membership Committee.
INITIATION FEES & DUES: Initiation fees and dues will be determined annually by the Board of Directors. The dues year will be the calendar year. ANNUAL DUES including any assessments shall be payable on the first day of January each year. Any members whose dues shall not have been paid by February 28 shall be notified by the Membership Committee Chairman in writing and advised that if his dues are not paid by March 15, his membership privileges shall be suspended. If by March 31 his dues including assessments are still unpaid, his membership shall terminate.
DUTIES:Membership in the Nantucket Anglers’ Club is a privilege which requires very little of a member: Pay your annual dues including any assessments promptly; obey the “house rules”; take Hors d’ouevre duty once a year; and otherwise volunteer and take part in monthly activities and tournaments.
