[Name] wins CHKS quality of data award

[Trust name] has been awarded the CHKS Top Hospitals 2016 data quality award; specialist trust, for its commitment to driving improvement in the quality of its data to the highest standard.

Data quality ensures staff hold the knowledge to effectively treat patients and provide the highest level of care possible. [Trust name] was awarded this title following an evaluation of depth of coding, percentage of uncoded spells and percentage of coded episodes with signs and symptoms as a primary diagnosis.

This award forms part of the CHKS annual Top Hospitals awards 2016. These awards recognise and celebrate the success of healthcare providers and are awarded to those organisations who have demonstrated their outstanding achievements in healthcare quality and improvement.

CHKS uses over 25 years of experience in the analysis of hospital data to decide the indicators on which each of the Top Hospitals awards are judged. Awards are made on the basis of an analysis of publicly available datasets and every NHS Acute Trust in England is included.

The CHKS Top hospitals 2016 awards were held in London on 10 May and were attended by over 250 guests including leaders from across the healthcare sector, Department of Health, Royal Colleges and Acute providers.
