DRUG EFFECTS JIGSAW
As a class you will find the following information about each drug in the attached table. You will be an expert on one of the drugs. The entire class will be responsible for knowing all of the information on that drug, and YOU are responsible for finding it on the drug assigned to you.
You may use books, magazines and internet sources to find the information. For internet sources, consider using a Google “Advanced Search” which will let you focus your search and weed out unusable websites. If you want help doing an advanced search, see me and I will happily help you design one.
You must find by the end of the period (or finish for HW):
1)Physical description of the drug. What it looks like, smells like, and feels like to the touch.
2)Range of street prices for the drug (low quality to high quality)
3)Estimated # of people using in the U.S. in 2005 in the U.S. today.
4)Restrictions on Legal Use (stimulant, depressant, hallucinogen, etc.)
5)Active ingredient (chemical name).
6)Description of the feelings sought by those who choose to take it.
7)Short Term side effects – what effects (other than those desired) can the drug cause within the first week of its use, including Overdose/Death, if possible
8)Long TermSide effects – what effects does the drug have over an extended period of regular use (include its potential for physical addiction)
