Dr. Sherif possesses more than 23 years of professional experience at international level in Environmental, irrigation and drainage projects. Experience included feasibility studies, planning, design, supervision, and execution of water supplying wastewater treatment and Irrigation/Drainage networks (Egypt, Oman, & Africa). Dr. Sherif mainly served for more than 20 years in the Water Resources management and wastewater treatment as a designer of Hydraulic Structures, purification/treatment stations, and Irrigation / Drainage Utilities.
Dr. Sherif has been involved in the procurement of irrigation equipment, the preparation of tenders and bid documents. He also involved in projects of improvement of existing water systems, and improvement of existing hydraulic structures. Moreover in the field of waste water management; he participated in planning and construction of “Mallawi Sewerage Treatment Station”, and in planning and designing of some sewerage networks (Zawet Soltan, Azoz, & Menbal; Middle Egypt, and El-Saqta; Oman), Fresh water plants (Zohra); Minia province, Egypt, and dewatering systems (Az-Zor Refinery Plant, Kuwait).In development and research issues, he also had large experience in Hydraulic Modeling, debris exclusion, and Sediment Transport subjects for many waterprojects. Experience included Monitoring and Evaluation of water management systems and water quality evaluation. In addition he innovated some of the important engineering techniques likewise:
Bridge Piers’ deflectors for controlling local scour around piers,
Aquatic weeds and pollutants' excluding utilities; suites: small canals, fast current and large Barriers for barrages and water structures protection,
Pre-Cast Semi Circular improved tertiary canals, for irrigation improvement in old lands.
"Matching" Mathematical Models, for Water Management on Egyptian Canal Network; matching between water demand and water availability.
Dissipative Bed Vanes, for river training and meandering reformation.
Wastewater compacted treatment unit, and recycling systems.
Dr. Sherif has gained his experience through work with national and international organizations (NBI, CODA, GIF, CIDA SRD, EU, ADB) funded by local and multi financiers such as the Social Fund For Development (Egypt), The Egyptian Government, The World Bank, KFW, DEMP; implemented in various regions nationwide such as the Nile Delta, Costal Area, Upper Egypt (Esna), as well as internationally in the Netherlands, Kazakhstan, Uganda, Kenya, Zambia, & Sudan,.
