1  INTRODUCTION

Practical training is part of your studies at the University of Applied Sciences. It is planned and its implementation reported according to this document

In the introduction part you describe what your training is all about and how it is connected to your studies. In addition, you give a presentation about your training place and describe how you got it. In the report part you may add information related to the introduction.

Please note that if you complete your training outside Finland there are special requirements and documentation needed. You will get more information on the international training issues from your Training Coordinator or at http://www.lapinamk.fi/en/Students/Going-abroad/Preparing-mobility-period/Training-abroad.

2  LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Please note that in addition to programme-based objectives, there are also your personal objectives which you need to pay attention to when planning the training period. The programme-based objectives are given in the curriculum on SoleOps. Please write down the objectives here and include your possible personal objectives as well. Think carefully how you will be able to meet the objectives and requirements during your training period (e.g. methods, practices and tasks). You may also emphasise here your own personal strengths and development needs.

3 COMPETENCE AND SKILLS BEFORE TRAINING

In this part of your training workbook you describe your own competences (knowledge, skills and attitude) and your capabilities related to the learning objectives of the training. You may also include information on your skills and competences obtained from your previous studies, training places, work experience and hobbies.

This chapter may act as your “personal marketing speech” when applying for a training place and planning your training tasks.

4  TRAINING TASKS

In the planning phase you should describe here what kind of duties you would like to have during your training. Please remember to check and update this information in the reporting phase. Attach all possible programme-specific, training-related assignments here as well.

If there is a specific development project included in your training, give a brief description of it in the planning phase (its contents and topic). Please remember to give a broader report on it according to the programme-specific instructions.

5  ASSESSMENT

Reflect your skills and knowledge acquired during the training to the learning objectives of it. Please use the assessment plan of the study unit (learning outcomes and process assessment) and all other feedback received from your training (oral or written feedback). Think carefully what kinds of development needs you still might have based on your assessment process. Think also how you would be able to get those skills and knowledge.

BIBLIOGRAPHY

Please use the right template for marking your sources you have used in this training workbook. The system is similar to the one in the thesis process (http://www.lapinamk.fi/en/Students/Study-Guide,-Bachelors-Degree-Programme-Students/Thesis-instructions).

APPENDICES

Please remember to attach copies of your Training Contract and all other documents required by your degree programme (e.g. work certificate, training certificate, time sheet, written assignments).

You may use again the thesis template of Lapland UAS for the instructions how to include attachments in your report (http://www.lapinamk.fi/en/Students/Study-Guide,-Bachelors-Degree-Programme-Students/Thesis-instructions).
