Membership
There has a stable membership with only a slight fluctuation from the fall. We continue to have Tim Rayworth as our membership chair who is doing a fine job
Finances
Region 1 continues to have a solid financial base. As of January 2012, we have an account balance of just over 9000.00. Our goal is to maintain sufficient funds to support a full year of membership services and projects. This includes all expenses for our regional workshop and the awarding of scholarships for members to attend it. We continue to look toward other revenue streams as well as concern about the lack of regional rebates in any form or means in the coming year.
Publications and Sale Items
Region 1 continues to provide four issues of Town and Country annually to its membership. The newsletter is now sent electronically via Constant Contact. In addition to being sent via e-mail, newsletters are posted on the Region 1 website. To date we have published two issues since the fall report
Workshops and Activities
Planning and participation in a joint Region 4 and Region 1 workshop was completed in February 2013. Robb Carr, Deputy Director took the lead on this project and while we had a substantially smaller region one turnout (about 5) it was still great to work with the folks in Region 4). Government cutbacks, a wicked snow storm and overall economic issues affected the attendance by Region 1 members
Scholarships
Plans are underway to revitalize this for 2013
Web Site
Our web site is updated frequently to include the latest newsletter, training opportunities, event notices, board member contact info and photos of Region 1 interpreters in action.
Respectfully submitted,
Tom Mullin
Director, Region One
