Introduction

The author was born a Moslem. She led a traditional Islamic life, a devout commitment to Islam. She had a deep suspicion of Christianity and Christians whom she perceived as polytheists who believe in three gods: the Father, the Mother (the Virgin Mary) and the Son (Jesus), (Sura 5:73-75, 116). When the Lord saw her eager desire to know Him, He revealed Himself to her in a vision. This experience led her to believe in Christ and to proclaim Him as her Savior.

In this book she chronicles the events of her experiences with our Lord Jesus Christ which culminates with her escape from her country of birth, Egypt, the very land that hosted Christ as a child in his escape from Herod. The details told by the author are real. They are not a product of imagination or embellishment. We translated here the Arabic script in its entirety. The only exceptions are some of the names of individuals for whom - out of concern for their safety - we either omitted or changed with the approval of the author.

In publishing these memoirs, it is not our intent to compare one religion to another. Nor do we aim at getting involved in “stupid and futile arguments” that would produce nothing but antagonism and hard feelings. The purpose is to bring to the attention of the readers the true experiences of the author - who was at odds with Christianity - yet she came to adore Christ who had miraculously revealed Himself to her. All of this occurred without any input from any human being. We leave it to the reader to make his/her own judgment or conclusion on the subject.

We pray the Lord that these memoirs may bring blessings on the lives of those who come across them and fill their lives with thanksgiving and joy. May He lead all of us to the truth and to everlasting life.

Author's Statement

In the Name of the Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit, One God. Amen.

Blessed be the Lord our God who granted me the grace to preach the faith that I previously had rejected, I who previously had persecuted Him.

Glory be to God the Father and to our Savior Jesus Christ who comforts us in our tribulations, who lets His humble servant be a source of comfort to you, not because of my righteousness, but by the grace of God bestowed on me for your sake. Glorify the Lord forever and remember His mighty and miraculous work in me and know that I was not proselytized by man. I received the faith from our Lord Jesus Christ Himself. Glory be to Him now and forever. Amen.

I write this testimony in the divine presence of God. He knows that I am not lying. I present a true testimony about how wonderful God’s work was and is in me.

My tongue was quick and arrogant to insult Your name, and You tamed it. From now on, I am devoting myself to You, proclaiming You to the world. Let Your will be done, not mine. My Lord, I am all Yours. This is enough for me and I am not asking for more. My beloved Lord, do not permit me to do anything against Your will. Let your love that dwells in my soul guide me.

“I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees You” (Job 42:5)
