The Michigan HomeCare & Hospice Association (MHHA) is pleased to announce the Michigan Foundation for Home Care Rosemary Mayes RN Scholarship Program to honor the memory of long time home care nurse and MHHAfriend Rosemary Mayes who passed away in 2014. This scholarship will be awarded to a nursing student who is employed by a home care or hospice organization and pursuing a nursing degree. We invite all eligible nursing students or prospective students to apply by March 2, 2018. This scholarship opportunity is supported by donations from Rosemary’s family, MHHA members, and others. Michigan Home Care is pleased to announce that the 2018 scholarship award will be $2000.
The MHHA office will accept scholarship applications until 5:00 PM on Friday, March 2, 2018. Applications will then be given to the MHHA, Education Committee with all names, and otheridentifying information removed to avoid potential bias. The Education Committee will review applications and make the selection at their March meeting. The awardee will be notified and later will be publicly recognized during the MHHA Annual Conference, Award Luncheon on April 26, 2018. The Scholarship winner or their designated representative will be presented a check in the amount of $2000 from the Michigan Foundation for Home Care, payable jointly to the identified educational institution and theaward winner.

Aide to RN Scholarship Criteria:
- The applicant must complete the attached scholarship application.
- The applicant must be an active employee at a home care or hospice agency in Michigan.
- The applicant must include with the application, a letter of support or referralfrom his/her employer.
- The applicant must submit a narrative which includes a brief biography and a statement describing why he/she feels deserving of the award.
- The applicant must be currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program.
- The applicant must have demonstrated scholastic excellence with a minimum G.P.A of 3.0 as a college student with at least 30 credits completed.
- The applicant must submit a current transcript of grades.
- Awards must be used for tuition, fees, books and/or supplies.
