Glamorgan Valleys Primary Netball Tournament - Friday 18th November 2016
Last Friday, our netball squad took part in the Glamorgan Valleys Primary Netball Tournament at Cynffig Comprehensive School. We entered an ‘A’ and a ‘B’ side and both played a total of five matches each. The eventual winners of the tournament were West Park ‘A’ who remained undefeated but our ‘A’ team also qualified for the Bridgend Schools Finals Day having finished as runners-up after 3 wins, a draw and a loss. Our ‘B’ side gained valuable experience despite losing their matches, performing very well against Pil and Newton especially. Well done to all who took part.
On Friday 25th November we will be playing netball and rugby matches at home to Newton Primary School, Porthcawl, starting at approximately 1.20 p.m. Your support at these matches is greatly appreciated.

Congratulations to Our Pupils at Revolutionise Dance!
It has been a successful month for our pupils who are members of Revolutionise Dance. On Sunday 7th November, Year 1 pupils Alyssa Walmsley, Rio Walmsley and Lexie Hopkins and Year 2 pupils Evie O'Brien and Nia Cooper were part of the Avatar team that came in 3rd place in the ‘That's Showbiz’ competition at Porthcawl Pavillion. This automatically secured them a place at the semi-finals in Blackpool in January, which is a terrific achievement. Then, on Sunday 20th November, Alyssa, Rio and Lexie not only won a gold medal at a competition in Coventry in the West Midlands but were also awarded the highest marks in their category on the day, receiving further recognition for their skills. Year 6 pupil Samantha Walmsley also came away with a bronze medal for her performance of ‘Alice’. Evie was also part of the hip-hop team which, through judges’ recommendation, also made it through to semi-finals in Blackpool. Congratulations to you all and good luck in your future performances – I am sure the experiences you gain will be memorable.
