My name is Lauren Cardenas and I am excited to be teaching your child this year!
Grading Policies

Students may complete corrections on ANY quiz or check to receive half credit for each docked point. For example, corrections can turn a 50 into a 75, a 70 into an 85, or even turn a 98 into a 99. Corrections MUST be done in the classroom with me. I will give similar problems to the ones they missed. Corrections must be completed one week after the assignment is passed back. Corrections for assignments done in the last week of a six-week period must be turned in by the end of the six weeks.
It is the student’s responsibility to make-up any missed assignment. Tests or quizzes must be taken beforehand if it is a school-related absence. Otherwise, students will have no more than two days to make it up (with a valid excuse).
Only one late assignment will be accepted for full credit per semester. After that, the highest possible grade for a late assignment will be a 50.
In-Class Rules
All electronic devices (cell phones, tablets, laptops) must be put away once the bell rings. Students are expected to participate and be active in class activities. There will be some days where students must bring their tablet for the activity and I will let them know ahead of time.
Website
Assignments, instructional videos, and announcements will be posted on www.cardenasmath.com. Students are expected to check this website at least once a day for homework and announcements.
