My Leadership Journey Assessment

This project will have you identify FIVE of the most important valuesin your leadership. Once you have selected FIVE unique values, you will design and create a story map of THREE locations in relation to each value. For example, you may say that you value Honesty. You would then select THREE locations (all on the same map or 3 separate maps) that you feel represent how you learned to develop that value and how those locations strengthened, or developed those values in you as a future leader, and write a brief description of how that place helped you gain that value and why it is so important to you. You would also add multiple types of media to your presentations to enhance your story (photos, videos, music, documents, etc…)

Story Map Example:

Your map template will vary based on your preference, but the content below must be included regardless of the template you choose.

Content you must include in your story map:

  • An introduction map, photo, or video and text about your leadership and values and why you chose the values you did.
  • Leadership philosophy in the introduction.
  • A unique style of map for each value. (5 different types of maps total)
  • Include dates and time periods for each map you design so your audience knows not only where they are, but when they took place as well.
  • A significant text description of the location and the event or events associated with the location (should also include links to other sources of information for this location or events)**** if applicable
  • Each location should have multiple pieces of media or extras that enhance the text description or provide unique information on that location and your value (videos, links, pictures, audio, 3-D objects, etc…)

Honors component:

Create ONE extra map for the most important place in your leadership right now. Include multiple extra pieces of media to fully detail its significance. Explain why this place is so important to you and what it means to you. This will be a place that you always want to be able to visit and or see later in your life because it shaped your values or your leadership like no other place. This will be a separate place from your other value locations.
