“My Children Walk by Candlelight”
I John 1:5-7: “And this is the message that we have heard from Him and announce to you, that Elohim is light and there is NO darkness in Him at all! If we say we have fellowship with Him and walk in darkness, we lie and are not doing the Truth. If we walk in the light AS HE IS in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Yahushua Messiah, Elohim’s Son, cleanses us from all sin.”
John 8:12: “And Yahushua spoke again to them saying, `I am the light of the world, he who follows Me shall by no means walk in darkness, but shall possesses the light of life.”
II Corinthians 6:14: “What fellowship has light with darkness?”
Genesis 1:1-4, 16-18: “In the beginning, Elohim created the heavens and the earth. And the earth came to be formless and empty, and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of Elohim moved over the face of the waters. And Elohim said, `Let there be light.’ And light came to be. And Elohim saw the light that it was good. And Elohim separated the light from the darkness…And Elohim made two great lights…and Elohim set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light to the earth…to separate the light from the darkness.”
From the re-creation of earth, His first act was to bring forth light where darkness had ruled, and to separate the light from the darkness. Yahuwah and Yahushua are the spiritual Light of the world, and in all of Their domain. They are pure intense Light that can never be diminished. They can never allow darkness near Their Presence.
Light, by its very nature, destroys darkness. Try getting darkness near a light bulb in a lamp, a flashlight, or even a match-light. Nothing can approach the powerful Light of Elohim and mix it with darkness--producing spiritual dusk, gray, a subdued light.
Proverbs 4:18-19: “But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn that shines brighter to the full day. The way of the wicked is like darkness. They do not know at what they stumble.”
He gives us a clear choice--walk in the light, or stumble in the darkness. We can’t do both. What is tragic is that most of His people, in “free” nations especially, walk in darkness, and stumble, because they do not allow the Spirit of Yahuwah to teach them His Word. Thus, they are blinded by the darkness of their religious teachers and by the world in general.
If we try to walk in a mixture of light and darkness, it is guaranteed that the darkness will extinguish the little light that we have, because the human sin-nature loves darkness more than light. (John 1) The Light of Elohim is so pure and so intense that the darkness flees from it. (I John 5:19)
From Ephesians 5:8-13: “For you were once darkness, but now are you light in the Master. Walk as children of light…and have no fellowship with the fruitless works of darkness, but rather reprove them…For all things being exposed are manifested by the light …”
Daniel 2:22: “He reveals deep and secret things. He knows what is in the darkness and light dwells with Him.”
The whole world lies in darkness/wickedness because it is controlled by the prince of darkness--the “god of this world.” Those that love this world live in Satan’s darkness, making themselves enemies of Elohim. Ya’cob (James) 4:4; I John 2:15-17) Yahuwah only claims the children of light as His children!
Psalm 97:10, 11a: “You who love Yahuwah, hate evil…light is sown for the righteous.”
Make no friends with the world system, for it is part of the dark kingdom that seeks to ensnare Yahuwah’s people in their trap. The darkness is getting darker, so our light will be more obvious.
From I Thessalonians 5:1, 4-10: “Now brothers, as to the times and the seasons, you do not have to be written to…you brothers are not in the darkness that this Day should overtake you as a thief. For you are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night, nor of the darkness. So, we should not sleep as others do but be watchful and sober-minded…but we who are of the day should be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the expectation of deliverance, because Elohim did not appoint us to wrath but to obtain salvation through our Master, Yahushua Messiah.”
Joshua 24:14, read in context: “Choose this day whom you will serve!”
Dear brothers and sisters of the Kingdom of Light, it is through our true new birth by the Spirit of Yahuwah that we are translated out of the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of Light--the Kingdom of “His Dear Son.”
I Peter 2:9: “You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a set-apart nation, a people for a possession, that you should proclaim the praise of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light!” Are you proclaiming the praise of Him who died and rose for you?
Colossians 1:10-14: “…walk worthy of the Master…bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of Elohim, being empowered with all power according to the might of His esteem, for all endurance and patience with joy, giving thanks to the Father who has made us fit to share in the inheritance of the set-apart ones in light, who has delivered us from the power/authority of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of His Dear Son, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins…”
There is no light for those who are not truly born again by faith in the blood of Yahushua for the removal of sin and right-standing with Yahuwah. “Without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sin.” (Leviticus 17:11; Hebrews 9:7, 11-12, 18)
Without the blood of the Lamb of Elohim we are hopelessly lost. By His taking our sin, we are set free to live in the Light of Elohim.
The battle is increasing, the demonic powers increasing in our world in many forms. They know their judgment is near, so they are not holding back their onslaught on the children of Yahuwah in any way. They are out to destroy all the children of light from this world – and any light that would point a person to Yahuwah and Yahushua.
We, as the children of light, are the only restrainers among mankind who are holding back the onslaught and total takeover of earth by the angelic forces of Satan-Lucifer. Your light within your spirit is a restrainer of darkness! You hold the light in the temple of your spirit, if indeed you are filled with Spirit of Yahuwah. Don’t put your light under a bushel basket, or hide it under your bed; put it on a lamp stand to light the world around you. (Mark 4:11) The light repels darkness.
Messiah said of us: “You are the light of the world.” Yes, being light brings a lot of persecution down on our heads as we face the hoards of darkness. But, if we stand in the power of His might (Ephesians 6:10-18; II Corinthians 10:3-6) His Presence with remain with us!
Read II Chronicles 20. How did the tiny army of Jehoshaphat win over the mighty armies surrounding them? Read Judges 7:1-22. How did Gideon’s 300 defeat the thousands of Midian? Refer to: “Gideon’s 300”/January 5, 2009] Gideon’s army held up lanterns. The light shone in the darkness, and the enemy was so terrified that they killed each other.
In II Chronicles 20, the army of Israel went forth singing the praises of Yahuwah, and the enemy was so terrified they killed each other. The ways of Yahuwah are not our ways, but they always work better than we could ever imagine!
Matthew 5:14-16: “You are the light of the world! It is impossible for a city to be hidden on a mountain. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but put it on a lamp stand, and it shines to all those in the house. So, let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and praise your Father who is in heaven.”
What is the work of Yahuwah? John 6:27-29: “Do not work for the meat that perishes, but for the meat that remains unto everlasting life…So, they said to Him, `what shall we do to work the works of Elohim?’ Yahuwah answered…`This is the work of Elohim--that you believe in Him whom He sent.” Our deeds must only come from faith deeply rooted in our spirit!
***The morning of February 14, 2016: Abba spoke to me: “My children walk by candlelight”? Who are His children? When He looks into the face of His true children, He sees His own reflection! His children look, act, and talk just like Daddy! They have His nature, walk in His ways, understanding His thinking, and love Him with all their heart. They are light because He is light. So, why, is He sad because His children walk by candlelight?
It is because His children have become so absorbed into loving this world that they have allowed the darkness to dim the brilliance of His light in them! They have not guarded their spirit to keep it open to His eternal realm. They are walking in light, but not the brilliance of light that reflects the face of their Beloved.
Sadly, Moses had to put a veil on his face because the children of Israel were afraid of the radiant light in his face. (Exodus 34:33-34)
It is said: “The eyes are the windows of the soul.” I was 22 years old. I was down on “Skid Row” in Los Angeles, preaching the Good News late at night. It was the worst part of the city. Yet, the fire of His Spirit was in me to preach, even when 9-months pregnant with my oldest daughter. One night, a gang surrounded me. The leader stepped forward and looked baffled as he looked closely at my eyes. He said: “Lady! What are you high on”—meaning, what drugs are you taking? I answered: “I’m high on Jesus.” They understood. It was in 1967, at the height of the Jesus movement among hippies. They listened.
Once again, I ask you to read the mini-book For the Love of Truth – Possessing Your Eternal Life, by Derek Townsend (Amazon Kindle, or thewellltroddenroad.org). We “possess,” or do not “possess,” our eternal life! In all my years of study, I never heard the reality of “possessing” what He has given to us presented in such a clear manner as in Derek’s mini-book.
Luke 8:17-18: “For whatever is hidden shall be revealed, and whatever is secret will be revealed and come to light. Therefore, take heed how you hear. For whoever possesses, to him more shall be given. And whosoever does not possess, even what he thinks he possesses shall be taken away from him.”
Take Messiah’s warning seriously! Don’t let your light go out! The foolish virgins let their light go out, Thus, what little they had was taken away from them. They were unable to enter the wedding feast. (Matthew 25:1-12)
Most of His children live their entire lives in candlelight! They are described well in Revelation 3:15-22, the assembly of Laodicia. They are LUKEWARM--a mixture of hot and cold, light and darkness. They are content to live in a mixture. But, Abba will allow NO mixtures in His Presence!
Know this: If you walk as a child of the light, the darkness fears you. Do not be afraid of THEM! Yes, the darkness wants to snuff out your light. We’re in a war to the finish. So, be strong in the power of His might, strong in His love, you, peace, and faith, with bold praise and worship of His mightiness, proclaiming His right to rule. “Come Yahushua Come!” (Revelation 22:17)
