Corner of Western Road and Philip Aziz Avenue, London, Ontario
Facility: / Eight lane, 50m pool with Keifer-type lane markers and Dolphin timing system. The pool will be configured for SCM (8 lanes x 25m) with competition in the deep end. 4 lanes in shallow end will be available for continuous warm-up and cool down
Meet Structure / The meet is being run as Age Group Timed Finals.
All events will be swum as mixed age and gender.
Awards: / Ribbons: 1st - 8th individual events
1st - 8th relays
Age groups for awards will be 9 & under, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15&Over
Coaches, or their representative, should pick up all awards at the conclusion of the final session of the meet or make arrangement with meet management before leaving.
Morning and afternoon event will be combined and awards will be given according to the age groups (as listed above) and by gender.

Clubs can have all of their athletes at the same session or split into both sessions. Clubs are not permitted to enter a swimmer more than once in the same event when offered in multiple sessions.
12 and under swimmers can only swim in one session (per Swim Ontario rules).
Younger swimmers can only move up to fill a relay in the next age group ie 11 & 12 year old swimmers are permitted in the 13 & 14 relays.
Names for relay entries be must turned in to office 30 min prior to start of session.
Only swimmers, certified coaches and officials are allowed on the pool deck. NO OTHER PERSON IS ALLOWED ON THE POOL unless expressly authorized by Meet Management.
“Meet management requires that any coach wishing to rely on a time achieved by the swimmer for an interval shorter than the total distance of the event shall so advise the Referee prior to the commencement of the session (or event) in question.”
Entries: / All events are timed finals. Entries will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Meet management reserves the right to limit the number of teams and/or entries to control the length of sessions. Any team or entries which cannot be accommodated will be immediately notified.
Meet management reserves the right swim the 400, 800 and 1500 free doubled up if time constraints require.
Meet management reserves the right to limit the number of heats for the 400, 800, 1500 free and 400 IM up if time constraints require.
Deck entries will be accepted only if there is space in existing heats. No additional heats will be created. Deck entry swims are exhibition only, and will not earn points or be eligible for awards.
Scratches should be reported to meet management during the warm up period prior to each session. Refunds will not be given for scratched swims after the Entry deadline. There will be no penalty for scratching during the meet.

No entries will be accepted directly by meet management. Hy-Tek Team Manager meet events import file can be downloaded from course times converted using Hy-tek Team Manager’s standard conversion can be submitted for seeding purposes.
Entry deadline: / Please send your entries as soon as possible, but the final entry deadline is Wednesday, November 26th, 2014. Please provide a phone number and email address for the coach of your team in the event that Meet Management needs to contact the coach.
Results: / The meet will run on HY-Tek Manager. Results will be uploaded at the conclusion of the meet.
Officials: / It would be appreciated if each participating club could provide a list of officials available to work for each session. Your official’s representative may email a list of officials and desired positions (indicate if anyone wishes an evaluation). Anyone requesting an evaluation should submit their request in writing via fax or email prior to December 1st. This will be conveyed to the Meet Referee but does not guarantee approval of evaluation. Final approval for evaluation is at the discretion of the Meet Referee.

SWIMMING CANADA

COMPETITION WARM-UP SAFETY PROCEDURES

Meet Management for all sanctioned Canadian swimming competition must ensure the following safety

procedures are applied. It is incumbent on coaches, swimmers, and officials to comply with these procedures during all scheduled warm-up periods. Coaches are requested to encourage swimmers to cooperate with Safety Marshals.

GENERAL WARM-UP:

  • Swimmers must enter the water FEET FIRST in a cautious manner, entering from a start or turn end onlyand from a standing or sitting position.
  • Running on the pool deck and running entries into the pool tank are prohibited.
  • Meet Management may designate the use of sprint or pace lanes during the scheduled warm-up time. Any such lane usage must be communicated either in pre-competition handout, announcement or deck signage.
  • Diving starts shall be permitted only in designated sprint lanes.
  • Only one-way swimming from the start end of sprint lanes is permitted.
  • Notices or barriers must be placed on starting blocks to indicate no diving during warm-up.

EQUIPMENT:

  • Kick Boards, Pull-Buoys, Ankle Bands, and Snorkels are permitted for use in the scheduled warm-up time.
  • Meet Management may permit use of tubing or cord assisted sprinting in designated lanes and duringspecific times of the warm-up only. Coaches are responsible for equipment reliability and use.
  • Hand paddles, drag chutes, and flippers / fins are not permitted during any warm-up at any time.

VIOLATIONS:

  • Swimmers witnessed by a Safety Marshal diving or entering the water in a dangerous fashion will bescratched without warning from their first event following the warm-up period in which the violation occurred.
  • In the case of a second offense during the same competition the swimmer will be removed from thecompetition in its entirety. A provincial disciplinary action or report may be filed.

SAFETY MARSHALS:

The Safety Marshal is a trained position designated by Meet Management. Safety Marshals shall:

  • Be visible by safety vest
  • Be situated at each end of the competition tank and when applicable, similarly situated in designatedwarm-up tanks when pre-competition warm-ups are scheduled.
  • Actively monitor all scheduled warm-up periods.
  • Ensure participants comply with warm-up safety procedures and report violations to the Referee.

PARA-SWIMMER NOTIFICATION:

Coaches are requested to notify Safety Marshals of any Para-swimmers participating in warm-ups where necessary and at the coach’s discretion.

The following statement must appear in all Swimming Canada sanctioned meet information and posted notices:

“SWIMMING CANADA WARM-UP COMPETITION SAFETY PROCEDURES WILL BE IN EFFECT AT THIS MEET.”

SNC POLICY ON SWIMWEAR

Effective September 1, 2009, all swimwear worn in swimming competitions sanctioned under the authority of Swimming Canada must conform to the January 1, 2010 FINA swimwear approval guidelines as listed below.

MATERIAL – The material of swimwear will definitively be constituted only by textile fabric(s). The FINA definition of “textile” currently is: “Material consisting of, natural and/or synthetic, individual and nonconsolidated yarns used to constitute a fabric by weaving, knitting, and/or braiding.”

SHAPE – MEN: swimwear shall not extend above the navel or below the knee. WOMEN: swimwear shall not cover the neck, extend past the shoulder, nor extend below knee. No zippers or other fastening system is allowed.

USE – Swimmers shall wear only one swimsuit, taping is not permitted.

CONSISTENCY – Swimwear effectively manufactured and used shall correspond to and be fully consistent with FINA approved samples. Any modification before use (including impregnation) is prohibited. Moreover, there shall be no variation/modification for individual swimmers.
