Mustang High School Yearbook Contract

I, ______agree to adhere to the following list of expectations as a member of the MHS Yearbook Staff.

·  To work as a team member and not as an individual player for the entire time I am a member of this staff.

·  To use all the time that is given to me to create the MHS yearbook.

·  To help any staff member that is in need of assistance.

·  To treat all members of the yearbook staff in a professional manner.

·  To complete all assignments allocated to me, including the sale of yearbooks and yearbook advertisements.

·  To accept any suggestions or constructive criticism that is given by the editing team or by the advisor with integrity and professionalism.

·  To show respect for myself and other staff members, their work, visitors, and the yearbook advisor.

·  To behave in a professional and non-confrontational manner at ALL TIMES.

·  To follow all of the rules and procedures put into place by the yearbook advisor, as well as all the rule and procedures put into place by the Mustang High School Administration and Mustang Public School District.

I agree that if I do not follow the aforementioned professional requirements, that I will accept, without question, the discipline designated by the yearbook advisor. I understand that after a ONE TIME WARNING for breaking this agreement, that removal from this course is eminent.

Furthermore:

·  I understand that my grade is based on meeting deadlines for spreads. Any spread that does not meet deadlines (or does not meet quality standards) will receive half credit at most.

·  I understand that my photographs, copy, captions, and headlines will be graded based on quality. They will be returned until they meet expectations. Feedback is meant to help your grade and improve our yearbook as a whole.

·  I understand that I will be responsible for covering events that will happen outside of regular school hours.

·  I understand that I will be seeing and hearing confidential information. Failure to keep this information in this classroom confidential could result in removal from this class. Yearbook should not be discussed outside of class.

·  I understand that the contents of the yearbook are confidential until the release of the book. I agree not to share the contents with any student who is not a member of the staff.

·  I understand that I will be using expensive equipment and may have to check out equipment overnight. I understand that I have to earn the right to checkout equipment. I will take care of this equipment and will ask questions if I am unsure how to operate any equipment. I will report any issues no matter how small (i.e. losing a lens cap) to the advisor immediately.

·  I understand that I represent not only myself when I am on assignment but also the entire yearbook staff, teacher, and the reputation of our school.

·  I understand that I must be eligible in order to cover assignments.

·  I understand that the yearbook has specific deadlines that must be met. I am willing and able to work on the yearbook outside of class in the event of inclement weather.
