Note: In 2019we aregoing to a Smoothboreturbo with amaximum inlet of 2.6. See turbo charger option B for spec.

Vehicles are allowed to be hauled to the pull.

Requirements: Thedriver must have a valid driverslicense.

Trucks will weigh 8000 lbs maximum, with driver.

Ballast: Ballast is permitted.All added weight must be secured in bed of truck or front mounthanging tractor style weight.Hanging weights may not extend more than 60 inches from the centerline of the front axle. Weight boxes are prohibited. Weights and brackets must be removable by hand. No Ballast/added weight in the cab area.

Batteries:The batteries must be securely mounted. They may not be located in the driver compartment or forward of the radiator core support.

Brakes: Four-wheel fully operational OEM hydraulic brakes are mandatory.

Body:The body must be an OEM truck body, including the full bed floor. The body and truck bed must retain full factory sheet metal.The body must retain OEM unaltered wheelbase. Metal aftermarket hoods are permitted. Fiberglass is prohibited. The hood must be closed and securely latched while the vehicle is hooked to the sled. The complete OEM firewall and complete OEM floor pan is mandatory. Front bumpers are mandatory; Ranch hand style and others are permitted. Rear Bumpers mandatory; Rear roll pans are allowed. Rearbumper/roll pan may benotched for hitch.

Chassis: All trucks must be a 1 ton or smaller chassis.The OEM chassis is mandatory. The vehicle must retain the full OEM chassis. Must retain factory OEMwheelbase for make and model of body.Wheel tubs, back-half conversions, tube chassis, etc., are prohibited.

Cooling System:Radiators must be functioning and in the stock location and be approximately stock size.

Cylinder head: Cylinder head must be OEM or OEM replica for brand of engine. No billet heads of any material. Head must retain factory OEM valve angle. No deck plates permitted.

Driveline:An OEM transmission, transfer case and axles is mandatory. They must have been an option on a one-ton or smaller pickup.

Driver Restraint System:The OEM restraint system is mandatory and must be worn.

Engine:Engine must be available from manufacturer in one ton or smaller chassis. Engines will be allowed to cross manufacturer’s lines. (A Ford may run a Cummins, etc.) Block and Head must circulate coolant freely. No hard filled blocks/heads. Water pumps may be electric or factory. All factory belt driven accessories, excluding air conditioner compressor and water pump must be retained and powered via the crankshaft by a standard serpentine or v belt or belts. Electric cooling fans are permitted.

Exhaust:All vehicles must be equipped to exit exhaust rearward of the driver’s compartmentvertically. Trucks with tailpipes must have 90 degree turn up attached.Stacks exiting through the fender well and hood are prohibited. Two (2) 3/8 inch diameter bolts must be installed through exhaust pipe in a cross pattern within one (1) inch of each other and as close to the turbo as possible.

Intake on Head: Open.

Fuel:The fuel must be pump #1/#2 diesel only. Soy/Bio-diesel fuel is prohibited.

Fuel Injection Pump:The fuel injection pump is limited to a stock-appearing, OEM engine make-specific pump only. Dual high-pressure common-rail fuel pumps or HPOPs are permitted. Maximum of one P pump up to P7100 allowed with one plunger per cylinder. Ag governors permitted.


Hitch: All trucks shall pull from a Reese style hitch with a maximum height of 26 inches at the hook point and the hook point has to be the furthest point rearward on the truck. The hooking point must have a minimum 3.750-inch inside diameter opening. Any hitch attachments /bracing must be from frame down not from axle up. Reinforcements must not extend forward of the centerline of the rear axle.

Intercoolers: Factory style or aftermarket air to air replacement only in stock location. **Water to air coolers are prohibited.** Any means of cooling the air before the engine, except the air to air cooler is prohibited. **NO USE OF ICE OR WATER OR COOLED GAS/VAPOR**

Interior:A complete interior, including dashboard, door panels, is mandatory. Two front seats are mandatory. Must have full back and head rests on seats.

Not Permitted: NO water injection allowed; NO nitrous or oxygen enhancers allowed. No propane injection. All components must be completely removed from truck. No passengers allowed in truck.

Safety Equipment: Everything listed below is required on all trucks.

  • Fire extinguisher: 2.5lb fire extinguisher must be securely mounted within reach of driver.
  • U-joint shields:All trucks must have at least six inch wide u-joint shield around the rear u-joint constructed of at least 5/16 inch steel or 3/8 aluminum that will safely contain the u-joint and the end of the driveshaft. All shields must be securely mounted to vehicle. Any front shaft u-joints that can be visibly seen from side of truck must be shielded to contain the u-joint and the end of the driveshaft.
  • Safety switch: Safety switch (rain cap or guillotine) must shut off air to diesel engines. Switch will be securely mounted to back of vehicle. A 2 inch or bigger solid ring must be attached to end of switch. Ring must be zip tied to switch bracket. Switch must also be able to be activated in cab while driver is secured in vehicle.
  • Manual transmission:SFI bell housing or SFI blanket type shield must be used.

Steering:The vehicle must retain the full, original OEM steering gear. The vehicle must retain the original OEM power steering assistance, if it was so equipped. Additional stabilizers are permitted.

Street Equipment:Complete headlight and taillight assemblies (all) are mandatory and must bein OEM locations. Complete OEM windshield and windows are mandatory. Drivers window must be operative per factory specifications; that is, they must open and close via OEM electrical or mechanical means. Driver’s window must be completely rolled up while competing. Other windows on truck may be lowered.

Suspension, Front:The factory suspension configuration must be retained. Adjustable caster/camber pillow ball mounts are permitted. The lower control arm may be strengthened provided factory-mounting points to chassis are maintained. The lower mounting point for the strut assembly may be modified for improved caster or camber. Strut tower braces, lower tie bars, sway bars, and limit straps are permitted. Traction bars and devices are permitted.Solid suspension is permitted; they must be bolt on only welds are permitted for attachment to frame or axle housing.

Suspension, Rear:An OEM-style suspension is mandatory. Traction bars and devices are permitted; they must be bolt on only; welds are permitted for attachment to frame or axle housing. Control arms may be strengthened or replaced, provided all original mounting points are retained. Strut tower braces, lower tie bars, sway bars, limit straps, and camber kits are permitted. All rear suspensions must use at least one shock absorber and leaf spring per wheel. Airbag spring assistance is permitted; airbag compressors must be disconnected. Solid suspension is permitted;they must be bolt on only welds are permitted for attachment to frame or axle housing.Maximum hitch height 26 inches.

Throttle:OEM style foot throttle. No Hand Throttles.

Tires:All trucks must run DOT approved tires, no cut tires,studded tires or tire chains. Tire size is limited to 35x12.5. Dual wheels are permitted with OEM appropriate bed. Maximum truck width of 8foot 6 inches.Dirt deflectors are prohibited.

Turbo Chargers. Trucks may utilize any turbo configuration described below. Any charger questions need to be taken up with class rep or board. Tech discretion is FINAL. The driver will be responsible for making turbo accessible for tech personnel to measure and inspect.

A.2.5-You may run a single turbocharger no larger than a S300 with only a T3 flange exhaust housing allowed. The compressor inducer bore must measure no more than 2.5 inches. The compressor wheel must protrude into the inducer bore by visual inspection.

B.2.6 Smooth Bore Charger: Smooth faced intake housing, LIMITED TO A MAXIMUM 2.6” INLET – NO MAP WIDTH Enhancement Groove (MWE) – with all air entering through the 2.6” opening. Intake wheel must protrude into 2.6 inducer bore for 1/8 inch.Turbo checked with a 2.605" plug. Plug must not be able to enter inducer bore and contact wheel.T-4 mounting flange is the largest allowed. Billet compressor wheels are allowed.
