Music Genre Research Project

Choose from one of the following Genres:

Blues

Rap

Rock

Jazz

Activity: Students are assigned to groups of 5. Each group will have a Project Manager. The project manager will assign jobs to each member and oversee the project flow. Each member will be responsible for one of the following jobs:

Locate and create biographies of 3 artists of the Genre.

  • Include pictures and music representations.

Create a PowerPoint or Storyboard representing the Genre.

Define instrumentation used for the Genre

Provide an analysis of the Form and Structure used to create the music.

Present the data to the class. (each presentation should last at least 10 minutes)

Assessment Criteria:

16 points possible for an A+

12 points = B-

8 points = D

4 points - F
