Music Department Administrative Assistant
The Position:
Working with the Director of Music Programs in helping with a variety of details to help the music department function to its capacity.
Major Duties: Specific responsibilities will include but are not necessarily limited to the following
1. Handling administrative duties for the music department, from regular class activities to special projects or events.
a. Addressing and mail various letters, postcards, invitations, and more.
b. Handling photocopying many different needed documents for classes, projects, mailings, and more.
Helping organize and streamline projects for the music department and its professors.
d. Helping prepare logistics of a multitude of projects and events, from large concerts, choir tours, student recitals, and more.
2. Assisting with physical projects involved in music department activities.
a. Being able to haul/handle choral risers, music stands, chairs, guitar foot-stands, etc., for set-up and concert/recital management.
Personal Attributes:
Computer skills with Word, Excel, possibly GarageBand, Keynote, and more.
Ability to multi-task in taking care of the multitude of projects needed for the music department.
Attention to details.
Ability to handle physical projects such as moving choral risers.
Ability to work under close supervision, and at times with little supervision.
A creative, perfectionist-leaning approach to projects assigned.
Commitment to Montreat College and to the Christian faith.
