Minutes of the regular council meeting of November 8, 2016 held in the Municipality of Lorne Council Chambers in the LUD of Somerset.
Those present were: Reeve Aurel Pantel, Councillors Roger Lesage, Stan Saxton, Lindsay Ketsman, Gilbert Vigier, Denis Savard, Denis Bibault.
Also present: Shannon Gaultier, Chief Adminstrative Officer

    Reeve Pantel called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council approves variation application VAR 19-16 as submitted by Gerald amp; Gisele Rondeau to allow an accessory structure within the front yard. The applicant wishes to construct a residential garage at the required setback of 25 feet from the front property line. A detached structure may only be permitted to be in front of the principal building by way of a variation order. Garage to be located on Lot 79/79A, Plan 2425, 453 Sarah Street, Somerset, MB.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council request that a Local Improvement Plan be prepared for the Natural Gas project with the condition that the Municipality of Lorne's contribution will not exceed $3,264,600.00. This will also include the communities of Notre Dame de Lourdes, St. Leon, Somerset, Swan Lake and Mariapolis.
AND FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Municipality will submit an expression of interest for the following buildings:

WHEREAS The Municipality of Lorne has applied for cost-shared funding under the Clean Water and Wastewater Fund (CWWF) for The Somerset Water Plant Upgrade Project.
WHEREAS this project meets the incrementality requirements of CWWF, meaning the project would not otherwise have been undertaken between April 1, 2016 and March 31, 2018 and the project would not have been undertaken without federal funding.
Whereas the Municipality of Lorne attests that this project can be completed by March 31, 2018.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT The Municipality of Lorne will proceed with this project upon approval and a signed agreement is in place with Manitoba.
