Manuscript Submission Contract

This contract is required for each submission. More detailed guidelines are available on the Insecta Mundi page of the CSE website. If there are any questions please contact us.

____1. Manuscript Preparation Guidelines and the Common Problems Checklist have been consulted to help find and correct any potential problems prior to submission.

____2. Organization. The organization of the manuscript follows the recommended outline.

____3. Nomenclatural Acts follow the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature (ICZN 1999), and all nomenclatural acts are listed in the Abstract.

____4. Referencing. All cited references are listed in the Literature Cited, and vice versa.

____5. Literature Cited rigidly follows Insecta Mundi’s style and punctuation.

____6. Keys, Synonymies, and Literature Cited texts are NOT hanging indented.

____7. Acknowledgments thank your two reviewers and anyone else deserving thanks.

____8. Final Clean Up has been done and the manuscript scrutinized for any problems, which have been corrected.

____9. One reviewer is a native speaker of the language used in this manuscript.

____10. Membership in CSE. I am a member in good standing with the Center for Systematic Entomology (CSE), or one of the coauthors of this manuscript is a current CSE member.

____11. Files for Submission. The following files are required with every submission.

___. Manuscript and associated appendices or other files.

___. Images of appropriate resolution, arranged into plates, each plate to be submitted as a separate TIF, JPG or PDF file.

___. Copies of two critical reviews, showing reviewer comments.

___. Reviewer Report Form for each review recommending publication.

___. Copy of this contract signed, attesting that manuscript is ready to go.

____12. Post-Submission Correcting of Manuscripts. I attest that I will work with files returned directly to me by the Editor, no previous versions of the manuscript.

____13. Page Proof Reviewing. I agree that page proof reviewing will be done in a timely manner and understand the article will not be released without my approval. Thus, I accept responsibility for any errors discovered after publication.

____14. Page Proof Corrections. I understand that excessive corrections to the page proof, based on my failure to submit a clean manuscript, will result in hesitancy for Insecta Mundi to consider any future manuscript.

I have followed the manuscript submission guidelines in preparation of this submission. I realize that it is my responsibility to present a clean manuscript, images, and other associated supporting documents. I am willing to follow suggestions of the Chief Editor or Review Editors to resolve any problems to correct my manuscript to journal standards. Failure to follow these rules will result in rejection.
