Regular Monthly Public Meeting
February 10, 2014
The Muncy School District Board of Directors held their regular monthly public meeting at 7:00 p.m. in the Muncy Junior Senior High School Library, 200 West Penn Street, Muncy, PA 17756.
Present were: President Scott McLean, Vice-President Mary Bennardi, Treasurer Carla Auten, Scott Johnson, Rhondel Moyle, Lisa Sleboda, Kimberly Spring-Winters, Robert Titman, and Sarah Woodward. Dr. Bennardi left at 7:24 pm.
Members of the administration present were: Superintendent Portia Brandt, Business Administrator David J. Edkin, Elementary Principal Frank Jankowski, High School Principal Timothy Welliver, Director of Curriculum and Instruction Kimberly Hamilton, Special Education Coordinator Michele Williamson, and Solicitor Austin White.
President McLean called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was recited.
There were two visitors present.
Mrs. Woodward moved to approve the minutes of the January 13, 2014 Special Topic Committee Meeting, and the January 20, 2014 Regular Public Meeting of the Muncy School District Board of Directors. Mrs. Moyle seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
Mrs. Auten presented a LCCPASR grant to Aide Richard Tamagno.
Dr. Bennardi moved to approve the following January 2014 Financial Reports:
1. Treasurer’s Report
2. General Fund
3. Food Service Report
5. Student Activities Fund
Mr. Johnson seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. (Copied in Minute Book)
Ms. Sleboda moved to approve the final draft of the 2014-2015 Muncy School District calendar. Mrs. Spring-Winters seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. (Copied in Minute Book)
Mrs. Woodward recommended approval of the 2014-2015 Proposed I.U. #17 General Operations Budget. Mrs. Woodward moved to approve the recommendation. Dr. Bennardi seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. (On file in district office)
Ms. Sleboda moved to approve the following revised board policies:
709 – Building Security
123 – Interscholastic Athletics
Mrs. Moyle seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. (Copied in Minute Book)

The Board discussed the merits of holding athletic committee meetings to conduct annual coach reviews.

The Board heard the following administrative reports:
- Elementary Principal – Mr. Jankowski
- Jr./Sr. High School Principal – Mr. Welliver
- Director of Curriculum and Instruction – Dr. Hamilton
- Coordinator of Special Education – Mrs. Williamson
- Business Administrator – Mr. Edkin
- Athletic Department – Mr. Welliver
- Superintendent – Dr. Brandt
The Board heard the following delegate report:
- PA School Boards Association – Mrs. Auten
Mr. McLean announced that an executive session for personnel will be held after tonight’s meeting.
There being no further business, Ms. Sleboda moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:33 p.m.
Mrs. Woodward seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
