A completed Lab Report should include the following sections:

Teacher / Criteria
0, 1,2,3,4, 5 / Introduction that gives background information on the topic of the lab.
0, 1, 3,5 / A clearly written procedure. States what was actually done in the lab. Drawings or diagrams are included if a set-up is described.
0,1,3,5 / Data table has labeled columns. All data is collected to the most accurate decimal place possible using the appropriate units. Data is arranged so that it is easy to read and understand.
0,5,7, 10 / Analysis, calculation and graphs are clearly labeled and done correctly. The calculations use correct significant digits and units. The graphs are done using a computer program with axis labeled and a descriptive title present. The analysis clearly interprets the data.
0, 5,7, 10 / The conclusion summarizes the purpose of the lab. The major points that were learned by doing the lab are discussed. Questions in the lab are addressed in a paragraph form. This section also includes specific details about any unknowns.
0,1,2,3,4,5 / Error analysis section discusses areas in the lab that most contributed to the error. Using percent error calculations where appropriate students discuss reasons for a positive of negative error. Students should be very specific about their most possible source of error.
0,2,4,6,8,10 / Students working in lab should demonstrate that he/she have read the procedure and understand what he/she is to be doing prior to starting. Students ask questions when appropriate. Students act responsibly with lab equipment. Students follow all safety rules. Students clean up his or her lab area.
