VACANCY: SENIOR PRACTICE NURSE (22 hours per week)
Pay Scale: £27498 - £30173(Pro Rata)

Muiredge Surgery has a vacancy for an experienced senior practice nurse to join our team.
Applicants must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and be at the level of a 1st level registered nurse with experience of working in primary care / general practice being desirable.
You will be joining a well established, forward thinking,teaching practice based within purpose built premises in Buckhaven, Fife. From a clinical perspective, the practice itself has 4 GP partners, 2 Salaried GPs, 1 Nurse Practitioner, 1 Senior Practice Nurse and 2 Healthcare Assistants. We are a training practice for both undergraduate and postgraduate students / doctors and are affiliated with both The University of Dundee and NHS Education for Scotland – East Region. You will be supported in your role by both the GP partners and Nurse Practitioner with a focus also being aimed at supporting you through training and providing excellent patient care.
Ideally, the successful applicant will be a nurse who is competent in the management of all chronic disease clinics including diabetes and respiratory. They must also be competent in participating in other areas including cervical screening, childhood screening/immunisation clinics, adult vaccination programmes and clinics including the practice’s own travel clinic, INR clinics and wound care management. Experience and knowledge of nurse triage would be advantageous as would nurse prescribing although full support and training towards these areas will be provided should the successful candidate not posses either of these skills. Dedication to educating undergraduate students is also a requirement of this position.
