Course Description: This extended orientation class will discuss the College’s programs, services and procedures, and standards. An in-depth exploration to transfer requirements for majors, student support services, student rights and responsibilities, and development of a student educational plan and basic guidelines for effective study will enhance student success at MSJC. This class is taught with an emphasis for the student athlete population and specific CCCAA, NCAA, and NAIA eligibility and transfer requirements are discussed. Prerequisite: None.

Attendance: Attendance is required for a passing grade every day.
Student Conduct: While in class, personal discussions about things that have nothing to do with the class will not be tolerated. All cell phones and pagers should be turned OFF (not on vibrate or silent), and all text messaging is prohibited. Academic dishonesty such as cheating or plagiarism will be met with either failure of the assignment or failure from the course.
Rehabilitation Act: This college abides by Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 that stipulates no student shall be denied the benefits of an education “solely by reason of handicap.” If you have a documented disability which limits a major life activity that may have some impact on your work in this class and for which you may require accommodation, please discuss that with your instructor (myself) during the first two weeks of class.
