Varsity Boys Basketball

Mount St Mary went to the Hoops for Hope tournament in Tulsa this weekend. The Rockets took on Cascia Hall on Friday. MSM got off to a strong start and just didn’t look back. Mount St Mary hit a total of 19 threes in the game. The game ended 83-46 with MSM getting a huge win over Cascia Hall. The next game was the MSM Rockets taking on Bishop Kelly. Bishop Kelly started off strong and went up big. Third quarter performances however from Cedric Rollerson and Stephon Hall brought the Rockets back to within two in the third quarter. However, the Rockets weren’t able to come back in time. The final score was Bishop Kelley 73- Mount St Mary 66. The Rockets now take on Tecumseh Tuesday night in Tecumseh. JV boys start at 5 and Varsity Boys start at 8. Look for the Rockets to bounce back after this loss and come show Tecumseh what Rocket Basketball is all about.

Varsity Girls Basketball

MSM Rockets vs. Bethel Wildcats

Final Score: 56-35 (W)

On Tuesday night rocket girls’ basketball did a fantastic job defending their home. Being led by sophomore Hailey Talbot with 17 points, freshmen Kennedy Allison with 14 points, and senior Mikayla Young with 7 points. It couldn’t have been done without point guard Mattie Rischard. Allison and Talbot have had a great season, going above and beyond with their team. We are excited for more years to come with them.

Swimming

The Rocket Swim Team was at Mitch Park in Edmond for a swim meet this past Saturday. They did a great job, and their coach was very proud of their effort. Their next Swim meet will be at Harrah.

Track and Field

The boys and girls varsity went down to Fayetteville Arkansas to run against the elite of the elite. All cores were able to compete and run against the top runners around the nation. The Distance core did great against the distance runners getting top of the group in the heats they ran against. The sprinting and throwing cores also did great getting impressive times against some of the best runners and throwers in the nation. The track team heads to the OU indoor track meet in two weeks to race against some of the top teams in Oklahoma. The track team is sending varsity members from all cores to compete and place against the elite runners and throwers.

Freshman Boys Basketball

The Freshmen Boys defeated Heritage Hall January 11th 55-53 in a very close tough game. Carsten Logan led the rockets with 20pts. Michael Rischard hit a huge 3 pointer with 10 seconds left to put the rockets up by 2. Heritage Hall then turned the ball over on the following possession giving the rockets the win. The Rockets return to action next Monday Jan. 22nd vs Jones.
