2.  To access a post for class, you have two options. Click the date on the calendar, or click on the category for you class and then find the date for which you are looking. Let’s try both. 3.  Let’s try the second option. Click on the HOME tab at the top of the screen. You should now be on the main page (there is a quotation on the HOME page that reads “The more that you read the more things you will know…” Under Categories (on the side), click on your class (English 7). 4.  Go back to the HOME page. I post assignments on the blog regularly. Some of these assignments can be downloaded and printed. Click on the post for your class on August 24 and download the assignment. Write what the message says: ______.

5.  Look at the top of the blog. Click on Independent Reading. When is September’s Independent Reading book due? ______

6.  On that same page, find the list of online places to look for book ideas. Notice these are in sections based on genres (historical, realistic, mystery, horror, etc.). Which type of genre do you like to read the most? ______

8.  Close that window and go back to the blog. Click on the page Independent Reading again. Find the 7th grade requirements for September’s independent reading book. What are these requirements?

9.  Look on the side bar under the red label School or the label Reading. Click on RJH library. Find Roy Junior High and click on it. You are now on the RJH library system. Find the Destiny Quest button on the left side. Click on it. Under Resource Lists, click on public lists. Find the list titled “Beehive Book Award.” Write down the name of the first book on that list. ______

10.  Close the list window (push the little “X” in the top right of the blue window). Write down #5 from the New Arrival List:______What is #1 in The Top 10 Books list? ______

11.  Go back to Ms. Okey’s blog. I like to post books that I am reading and have read recently. Click on Ms. Okey’s Is Reading at the top of the blog. What is one of the titles of the books Ms. Okey is currently reading? ______

12.  On that same page, click on the book The False Prince. To which website did the link take you? ______How many stars did this book receive on this website? ______

13.  Now, go back to the blog. Click on Scholastic at the top of the blog. What is our class code for Scholastic? ______

14.  At the top of the page, find the word Wonderopolis. Click on it. What is the “Wonder of the Day”? (If you can’t see the picture, just write the title and number.) ______

15.  Look on the side tab of the blog (right side). Find Games. Under this section, click on the link Poetry Idea Engine. Click the green start button. A new, small, window will open. Click play. Click on one of the circles: water, flower, cactus, or fire. Each one is a different type of short poetical forms. Choose the one you want to try. Go through the instructional prompts and then click yes. Create a poem that follows the rules of the poem you’ve chosen. Write the finished poem below.

16.  Go back to the blog. Choose one other link on the right side bar to click and look at. Which one did you choose? Write down the label (in the red box- Games, Moby Max, Mythology, Reading, etc.) and the link name (A Hero’s Journey, Myth Machine, RJH Library, etc.) ______
