5.Qualifications

Certified copies of academic records of each tertiary institution attended are required.

6. Outline of proposed research project

This should include:

6.1Name of Department in which it is proposed that the work will be done

6.2Title of the proposed PhD project

6.3An abstract of the research project in lay terms (200 words or less)

6.4A brief description of the research project (6 pages or less), including research objectives, the significance for paediatric health, research methods, data analysis and interpretation techniques

6.5Any special facilities required, particularly with regard to equipment and space

6.6A letter from the Head of the Department concerned, supporting the application, and confirming that the Department can provide appropriate supervision and facilities for the proposed research, should the application be successful.

This should include:

7.1 Education

7.2 Employment

7.3 Awards and Fellowships received

7.4 Completed research projects, including research grant achievement and brief summary of research projects

7.5 Research publications

7.6 Research presentations

8.Referees reports

The applicant must request reports from three referees (names, addresses and contact details to be given in the application), on the applicant’s academic abilities and personal attributes to undertake the proposed research project, and who may be prepared to evaluate the project proposal.
