Ms. Hatch’s Classroom – Room #29

Supplies:Bring all necessary supplies – textbook, notebook, novel, pen/pencil to each class.

Bellwork: Be sure your pencil is sharpened or you have lead before you come to class. Look for the bellwork as soon as you enter the room. You must be in the seat and working before the tardy bell rings or it is an unexcused absence.

Late to Class: You must have a pass to enter the room. If you do not you will be asked to go and get one. Place your pass in the basket on my desk so as not to disturb the class. I will look at the pass when I get a moment. I will explain what you missed while you were out as soon as I get a chance.

Food / Drinks: You may have water in class. No food is allowed in class unless it is a food day.

End of Class: If everyone is seated, you may leave when the bell rings. You do not need to wait until I dismiss you.

When You Need Help: First, make sure you have read the directions. Second, formulate a specific question that needs to be answered. Then, raise your hand and I will help you.

Collecting Papers: Place your work in the tray marked for your block.

Sharpening your pencil: It should be sharpened before class. If you need to sharpen your pencil, wait until there is a break in instruction to do so. Otherwise, just get up and sharpen it.

Bathroom pass: You may go to the restroom 12 times during the semester, so be sure you have to go – before you decide to sign out. There is a class set in front of the room. Find your name – sign the date and time – give to the teacher to initial. After you use up the passes, you may not go anymore. If this is a problem – get a note from your doctor.

Electronic devices: None are allowed unless you are given permission. I will write you up as per school policy, otherwise.

Fire Drills: There are several throughout the year. During a fire drill you are to walk in a single file out of the building. There is to be silence when you leave the building.

Tornado Drills: In the event of a tornado drill, you will be quiet. You will go to the designated classroom, and sit and face the wall.

Clothing: Wear appropriate clothing for the weather indoors. If you are going to need a jacket or long pants – bring them to class.

Desks: No bags or purses on the desktops. Desktops should be clear for coursework.

Lockdown: You need to be quiet and listen to your teacher for instructions.

Tissues: Placed on the shelf behind the door.

Make-Up Folder: Check for any handouts. Always touch base with me in case you missed notes or other information not included in the make-up folder.
