If you enjoy playing board and card games, you are invited to join the group!
We will play old and new games (Matchbox, Pyramid, Pig) focusing on sharing, taking turns and involving everyone in the games! We will also build team work by completing a 300 piece puzzle together. Cost $50. Limit: 15
● Mrs. Kirk: "Furniture Flip"
Students will learn a variety of furniture refinishing techniques and faux finishes. From sanding to painting, students will work in small groups on a variety of yard sale furniture pieces to turn them into works of art. The goal is to create lovely artistic pieces that will be auctioned off in the spring fundraiser, "An Island Affair" to benefit the arts here at Sigsbee. Cost $50. Limit: 15
● Mrs. Wagner: "Play and Fold"
Kick start your return to school with a body/mind challenge! We'll get active outdoors with kickball, ultimate Frisbee, and whiffle ball (3 sessions each) then move indoors for origami, a traditional Japanese technique of folding paper into various forms. Moving, learning, and having fun all at the same time! Cost $50. Limit: 15
● Ms. Darrow: "Everyone can dance!"
We'll discuss and learn different kinds of dance from different styles and cultures. Learn some dances to perform for a crowd when the quarter ends. Learn basic choreography. Cost $50. Limit: 15
Grades 3 – 5 ______
● Mr. Coleman: "Team Sports and Study Buddies"
Learn team-sport specific skills while participating in small-sided games for the first half of class time. Students will then move inside to beat the heat while working on homework for the last half of class time. Cost $50. Limit: 15
● Mrs. Maehl: "Cultural Art Exploration: Piñatas and more!!"
Students will explore the world of cultural arts through creation of a variety of projects. They will start off by making piñatas!!! In later weeks, students will explore projects such as weaving, mandalas, and stamp making. Cost $50. Limit: 15
● Mrs. Sheehan: "Beads, Beads, Beads"
Wrap, roll, cut, and pattern! Create beads using all different mediums...paper, clays, foil, and plastics. What recycled items can we use to make into beads? Design jewelry, key chains, and more from your own creative beads. Cost $50. Limit: 15
● Mrs. Falby: "Lego Engineering"
Become an engineering master as you learn simple machines and create Lego structures that teach basic engineering skills. Practice following instructions, get your creative juices flowing and develop your collaboration skills. Cost $50. Limit: 15
Grades 2 – 3 ______
● Mrs. Rynard: "Yoga"
Come explore, play and learn! This yoga class will offer breathing techniques and a fun physical practice. Students can discover yoga through games, stories and the traditional practice. The course will help the students learn balance, hand eye coordination, build core strength, improve bodily kinesthetics and will be offered enhanced relaxation techniques. Cost $50. Limit: 15
● Ms. Williams: "Dance"
Get your groove going with some dance moves. Learn some dances to perform for a crowd when the quarter ends. Learn basic choreography. Cost $50. Limit: 15
● Mrs. Anderson: "Photography"
Each week we'll find something new to capture from nature walks to the weather and even visiting other enrichment classes. You'll have a chance to edit your photos or turn them into a short movie clip!!! Maybe, your photograph will make it in the Scoop!!! Cost $50. Limit: 15
● Ms. Spellins: "Game On"
If you enjoy playing board and card games and want to learn some new ones you've never heard of...the Game is On!!!! We'll have lots of fun playing different games, at the same time focusing on building good citizenship. Cost $50. Limit: 15
Grades K - 2______
