Mrs. Miller’s Rules

These are the classroom expectations and consequences. The rules need to be signed by you the student that you understand and will follow these rules. They must be taken home to be signed by a parent also. This counts as your first assignment. These rules are also condensed and posted in the classroom.

Classroom rules

  1. Be in class on time, in seat and quiet. Read board for bell ringer/beginning work and get started. I follow the school tardy policy!
  2. Be prepared for class with your own pencil/pen, book, notebook, and lab book. You will not be allowed to go to your locker to get any forgotten item or borrow items.
  3. Be respectful to yourself, classmates and teachers. Please use manners.
  4. No phones should be visible in class, plugged in, in lap, on desk, anywhere visible.
  5. No talking, laughing or whispering while anyone has the floor or while teacher is lecturing. It is very rude and disrespectful and will not be tolerated.
  6. Raise hand for any questions you have and wait to be recognized.
  7. Stay in seats until bell rings. Do Not line up at the door.
  8. No cursing, throwing things, yelling, noisy bodily functions, spitting, eating, drinking or chewing gum while in classroom.
  9. Eating is not allowed in the classrooms. Sodas or coffee are also not allowed. Water bottles are allowed.
  10. No horseplay during lab. Labs are fun, yet safety is the key issue. Any issues with safety, students will receive a zero for that lab.

Consequences

  1. First disruption, a student will receive a verbal warning.
  2. After a verbal warning for a disruption, a student will be moved to a “time-out” seat within the classroom. This takes them out of the situation and allows them to focus on work at hand. Conference with student, parent will be called and notified. (Phone: 2nd infraction will be a referral)
  3. If disruption continues, student’s seat will be moved permentantly, parent will be called and request a conference with student in attendance.
  4. If student still continues to disrupt class, referral will be given.
  5. If fighting, yelling, cursing, lab safety issues or major disruption, a referral will immediately be written and parent will be called.
  6. Serious infractions including lab safety issues, deans will be called to room and referral written.

Missed work

Any work or assignments missed due to excused absences is the responsibility of the student and must be turned in promptly. Any missed tests, labs, or quizzes due to excused absence can be made up within 2-3 days after returning to school from absence. Unexcused absences during any assignments will receive a 0 and cannot be made up.

I have read and understand the classroom rules. Any questions or concerns, please contact Mrs. Miller at school and set up a meeting or you can email: .
