Students are expected to:

  1. show respect to their instructor, classmates, and the property of others, which includes not disrupting the class, and staying in their assigned seats.
  2. stay on task with class assignments—Date each assignment with the assigned date. No sleeping, playing, or doing other teachers’ homework.
  3. participate--Beginning with the second grading period, participation will account for approximately 5% of a student’s grade. The following will result in deductions to the participation grade: tardies, unexcused absences, missing assignments, and class disruptions. two points will be deducted for each occurrence.
  4. not communicate (oral, written, body language, and/or electronic) during exams and not have cell phones, calculators, or other electronic devices visible. Students will receive a “zero” and a referral to the vice principal if the teacher determines a violation. This consequence occurs on the first offense!
  5. complete their own work. A student who commits academic dishonesty, will not be given credit for the assignment/test and will receive a referral to the vice principal including their first offense!
  6. SAVE all assignments and tests to their server username. If an assignment is questioned for academic dishonesty, and the file was not saved, the student will not receive credit for their assignment or exam.
  7. not display any electronic/wireless devices. There will be disciplinary consequences and the device may be confiscated.
  8. use all equipment properly and ask questions when they are unsure about equipment use. If equipment is damaged or lost, the student will be appropriately disciplined and monetary compensation may be sought.
  9. have no gum, food or drinks near the desks/computers—place all food/drink items on the back counter or in their backpacks; otherwise, they’ll be thrown away.
  10. to attend class daily and be on-time--be in their seats and ready to work when the bell rings (not running through the doorway.) School’s tardy policy will be enforced.
