Mrs. Leclerc’s Classroom Procedures and Syllabus
For Geometry 2017-2018
1.)Be prepared for class.
2.)Remain seated until dismissed by the teacher.
3.)Be positive, respectful, and supportive towards others.
4.)Make good choices and follow all school rules.
5.)No talking during instruction, work time, tests, or quizzes.
If you are absent you are responsible to get any notes or work that was done during that class time. The daily assignment book will be on the counter in a 3-ring binder.A folder with your class name and period written on it will hold any worksheets that we did in class. Missing assignments are due within 2 days of the day you missed. Work that is turned in late will receive at most a 70% depending on the quality of work. Quizzes and Tests can be made up after school (must be completed within one week of the missed Quiz or Test). See me for available days. Quiz and Tests corrections will also be done after school. If you receive below a 50% you will need to retake the quiz or test and you can earn up to a 65%. If you get a 50% to 80% you can earn up to 10 points (which will increase your grade to the next grade level). 90% and above you can earn up to half your points back. See CCPS Code of Student Conduct for other information on attendance and make-up work. There will be math tutoring after school on specific days. See Mrs. Leclerc for the scheduled days.
Cell Phones and Technology Use In Class- Students are not to have cell phones or any other technology devices, other than calculators, out during class time (they will be kept in their bags in the back of the room) unless teacher permission is granted. During Quizzes and Tests they will also be kept in the back of the room in their bags or turned in to the teacher until teacher permission is given that they may retrieve them. Consequences is as follows: 1.) Conference with the student. 2.) Phone call home to parents and/or guardians will be made. 3.) A referral will be written and given to the assistant principal.
Passes- Students may sign out to use the restroom 20 minutes after class has begun and 10 minutes before class ends (this rule was passed down by Principal Bob Bedford).
Materials Needed for Class
1.) 1- 2” 3-ring binder(preferred for organizational purposes) or a notebook.
2.) 2- pocket folders one will be used for your Geometry Packet and the other for completed work.
3.) Highlighters, colored pens or pencils for notes (at least 5 different colors).
4.) Wide rule paper and graph paper
5.) Dividers- (if using a binder) 8 or more (so you can stay organized). Labeled as follows: Ch1 Notes/Txtbk/Wksht (same for other chapters), Vocab, Pre-Quizzes and Tests
6.) #2 Pencils
7.) Calculators- basic, compass and a protractor

Content to be covered- Tools of Geometry, Surface Area and Volume of 3-dimensional figures, Parallel and Perpendicular lines, Congruent Triangles, Relationships of Triangles, Quadrilaterals, Proportions, Similarity, Right Triangles and Trigonometry.
Quarter Grades- 60% - Tests/Quizzes Semester Grades-
30% - Classwork/Homework Q1(35%)+Q2(35%)+EOC(30%)=Sem 1
10% - Unit Organizers and FRAMES Q3(35%)+Q3(35%)+EOC(30%)=Sem 2
