Catastrophic Event

Research and Presentation Instructions

Research Instructions:

We will be researching catastrophic events. You will get to pull a topic out of a coffee can. That will be the catastrophic event you will research. Start your research with the web sites listed on the sheet. Once you have used those sites, you can google your event to get other information.

You must use google. Yahoo will not work on our network. Make sure you are doing WEB searches not IMAGE searches. When you type in your topic on google, type in just the name of your disaster. DO NOT TYPE IN ENTIRE QUESTIONS. That is not how google works. It will try to find every word in the question and you will get a lot of useless information.

Presentation Instructions:

Once everyone that has your event is finished researching, you will form a group to create a poster, power point, report or model about your event. Make sure all of the facts from your research card are into the presentation. If you want to construct a model, you will have to bring materials from home.

If you create a power point, make sure you save it as your name and write the laptop # down on your info sheet so we know what computer it is on.
