Introduction:
Careers in audio/video technology and film production span all aspects of the audio/ video communications industry. Within this context, in addition to developing technical knowledge and skills needed for success in the Arts, Audio/Video Technology, and Communications career cluster, students will be expected to develop an understanding of the history and techniques of the audio/video production industry.
Course Objective:
This course allows you the opportunity to develop an understanding of the various and multifaceted career opportunities in the Arts, A/V Technology and Communications cluster; you will gain knowledge, skills and educational requirements related to these opportunities. Throughout the course, you will learn all aspects of technology associated with audio and video – including computer skills, networking, scripting, ethics, laws and camera shooting. You will also learn about the stages of production and engage in each stage of production for numerous multimedia projects/presentations, which you will see through to the end of the course.

Absences:
Student has one class day per absence to complete make-up work. If lab days are missed student must make-up during tutorial times with teacher appointment. If absences are pre-planned please tell teacher ahead of time via email.
Grading Policy:
Daily Grades: 40% of your final grade. At least 12 daily grades will be given every 9 week grading period. Daily Grades can range from quizzes, to individual work ethic or other daily activities.
Test and Project Grades: 60% of your final grade. The tests and project due dates will be announced as assigned. Details of individual/group projects will be outlined.
Late Work: Up to 30 points will be deducted for work not turned in by announced due dates.
Tutoring:
Official Times are Wednesdays mornings from 6:45am-7:15am and Thursdays from 2:15pm-2:45. Please schedule any other times with me.
