  • If your child is doing something other than usual after school, please let me know. If I do not get a note or email the day prior to the event or the morning of the activity then your child will be sent to his/her regularly scheduled destination.
  • Breakfast: Remind your child that if they are hungry in the morning or don’t have time to eat at home, they can go to the cafeteria to eat breakfast when they get off the bus. They will just type in their lunch number and the money will come out of their account.
  • Grandparents/Special Friends Day: October 7th. If a grandparent or special friend is not able to attend with your child, you are more than welcome to come and enjoy the afternoon with your child. When you get here at 9:30 AM, meet in the cafeteria. The activities will then be held in your child’s classroom until 10:45 PM.
  • Book Check out: We will begin checkout for leveled reading books to take home. Students will come home with a book in a book bag they will be responsible for. Reading is part of their daily homework. 20 minutes a day or 200+ minutes a month is the goal! Please have your child read with you at home every evening. Parents, you will need to sign on the reading log sheet to show that your student read the book, and then have your child return it back to school in the bag to switch it out for a new book. Your child is always welcome to read any books at home in addition to the book bag books. Any amount reading can be counted on the reading log; reading to someone, reading with someone, or listening to a story are all accepted as minutes. J

**If you notice your child comes home with the same book every day or it is too hard, give them a reminder to switch their book. They are in charge of switching it every day. This book should be at a level or two below where they are being instructed. They are reading for fluency (reading smoothly and with expression).
