Mrs. Carroll’s 7th GradePre-AlgebraParent Letter

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I would like to welcome you and your child to myPre-Algebra class for the 2016-2017 school year! I am very excited to dive into the new topics that we will learn this year! I have very high expectations for my class, and I have no doubt that with hard work and your support, your child will be successful!

In order to be prepared for class, your child will need to bring the following items to class by Monday, September 12.

  • Pencils (at least three)
  • Expo Markers (enough to last throughout the year)
  • Three-ringed binder (at least one inch thick)
  • Four dividers labeled Warm-Ups, Reference Sheets, Class Notes, and Homework
  • Lined paper
  • Calculator (You can bring any kind with basic functions (TI-30), but also keep in mind that you will need a graphing calculatorin high school)
  • Headphones (These will be used with your Chromebook.)

Homework will be given daily so that students can reinforce their math skills at home. All of the homework will be posted on-line on my website which can be found on Eisenhower Middle School’s Teacher Pages: can also access the on-line textbook through the following website:

Part of your child’s homework for tonight is to talk to you about the syllabus that we discussed in class and to have you fill out the survey on the back of this sheet so that I can get to know your child. I look forward to working with you and your child this school year!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Carroll
