Professional Experience –
Print Media – Worked in Daily `Sakal` as a sub-editor for 13 years. Sakal is one of the most leading vernacular dailies in Western India. I worked not only in the news section, but also looked after all the supplements including Sunday Supplement.
I worked with ‘Arthamanthan’, the first regular weekly launched by the ‘Sakal’ group devoted exclusively for business, economy, industry etc. since its inception in 1992. I had to do very specialized editing, reporting as well as translation for it.
Along with news reporting and editing, I did feature writing, translation, book reviewing . My duties also included the ‘Page Lay-out and Designing’ and actual page making. I interviewed literally dozens of personalities in various fields of life for ‘Daily Sakal’, its many supplements and ‘Arthamanthan’.
With the help of my colleagues, I did the foundation work of today’s Sakal Pattern for 10th standard. I used to look after `Dahavicha abhyas` column. For that, I had to coordinate the teachers for article writing and also do the editing work. I also did editorial work for a magazine called `Dahavi Diwali`.
For personal reasons I had to leave my Sakal job. But since then I have been doing freelance work.
Technical Writing – Completed an introductory course in technical writing at `Technowrites`.
I did Thesis and Paper-checking work for the ‘Symbiosis Institute of Mass Communication’. I also did translation checking of the book for `Ranjhans Prakashan`.
Radio- Was a Graduate Assistant in the Radio Lab at the CentralMissouri StateUniversity.
I was also associated with All India Radio as a casual announcer.
I did internship with ‘Balchitrawani’ Television at Pune. This is an educational channel of Government. I did a course in educational script writing from Balchitrawani. I have written several scripts for their programs and also have participated in their programs.
