Dissertation: “Agent of Perception” Dissertation Director: Dr. Craig White. This project report is a portfolio of original poetry that uses a variety of techniques and styles to express my thoughts on events and topics that have shaped my life—a written expression of my self-identity and individuality. Individuality is often repressed by people thinking they know you, people thinking they can predict your next move, stereotyping. This collection of poetry and prose sought to inspire others to use writing as a source of vigor and self-assertion. Composing with intense concentration inspires authors to write with a passion they never thought possible. This passion makes other things possible, causing people to rise to action to make changes or differences in the world.
