MOVE! 2015: LOTS OF NEW FEATURES FOR

THE ONLY EVENT DEDICATED TO ACCESSIBLE TOURISM!

From 13 to 15 March 2015, Fiera di Vicenza
will be hosting the Professional Expo for responsible, sustainable Tourism that is accessible to everyone.

MOVE! - thenew Global Tourism and Hospitality Show, based on the experience of GITANDO and GITANDO.ALL, with the patronage of the Veneto Region and Village for all - V4A® will be open at Fiera di Vicenza from Friday 13 to Sunday 15 March 2015.

The only event of its kind in Europe, dedicated to tourism and global hospitality - MOVE! this year sees a brand new format and a new philosophy: ideas and solutions for global tourism, available to all travellers and dedicated not only to people with specific needs, but developed to support and promote a culture of sustainable and responsible tourism. Accessible tourism has been meeting with a great deal of interest over the last few years, confirming the figures for this sector: 786 billion euros is the estimated figure for earnings; 783 million trips requested by the market in 2012, and 138.6 million people interested in 2011 with a forecast of 154.6 million by 2020.

The expo reflects the aim of the United Nations World Tourism Organization, UNWTO,
agency specialising in Tourism at the UN. It represents a moment to refresh knowledge and to dialogue that are truly one of a kind in this field. Businesses and operators in the trade, but also even the most curious, interested visitors, will get the chance to introduce and be introduced to new ideas and practical solutions, designed for a tourism that fits whoever you are. Exhibitors’ attention will be focused on operators and tourists, whether families, groups of friends, older people and children, without forgetting commitment to social issues: providing occasions for leisure time, enjoying the possibility to reach, discover and find out about new destinations with absolute freedom to move is the prerogative of MOVE!.

A new route towards new ideas and practical solutions, brought together under a single theme:UNIVERSAL DESIGN, which consists of four macro sectors for projects and real solutions that can make places accessible to everyone:

-HOSPITALITY- an area dedicated to new ideas and to the development of projects especially for those in the hospitality trade, to create rapid development and upgrades to all facilities. This will make it possible to welcome travellers of all categories, indiscriminately.

-FUN SPORT- with specific reference to sports. This area is showcasing the innovations available to those who want to keep up their fitness even when on holiday. Integrating these services boosts the competitiveness of what local, regional and national tourism has to offer.

-MOBILITY- integrated transport solutions and systems that make mobility even easier and more flexible, using new technologies and modern accessories for comfortable, safe, and independent travel.

-SHOPPING HO.RE.CA- special attention to the development of fun, enjoyable services able to take care of all guests, independently of taste and dietary needs, generating resources and new business opportunities.

Under the patronage of the Veneto Regional Authority, on Friday 13 March, the expo will be hosting the annual MITA, the International Meeting of Accessible Tourism, which sets out the best practices in Italy and internationally on the subject of holidays and hospitality for all. Working with opinion leaders and the most important institutions in the industry, it deals with various subjects with the aim of implementing new projects for the current year.

Since the first edition (MITA 2011), there have been some developments to this great international summit; the Veneto Regional Authority has passed from its role as national and European interlocutor to interlocutor for international organisations that deal with accessibility in detail, providing policies and international guidelines (UN World Tourism Organization and international representatives of trade associations). MITA 2015 will be focusing on universal design, with the aim of presenting innovative policies and practices from all over the world, which can be integrated to achieve global guidelines for accessible tourism. This will be coordinated by the Veneto Regional Authority, and start out from the idea that inclusive planning must first and foremost create something that all visitors choosing the Veneto area as their holiday destination can enjoy.

This type of planning was first seen in the USA in the 1950s and this is why the region is working closely with the New York Mayor’s Office, represented at MITA 2015 by the Commissioner for eliminating architectural barriers, Victor Calise and by Robert Piccolo, the architect behind “New York For All”.

Thanks to this partnership, the Veneto Regional Authority is able to aim for remodelling areas based on the actual needs of a wider range of users, giving a more pleasant form to the results of national and regional legal constraints.

On the international panorama, MOVE! offers opportunities and benefits that give you the distinct possibility to feel at home wherever you may be. MOVE! means flexible, independent travel MOVE! is sustainable and responsible. MOVE! is for and about everyone!
