MountainStateUniversity – Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice with Homeland Security Concentration

MountainStateUniversity is offering a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice with a Homeland Security Concentration. The Homeland Security concentration focuses on terrorism and homeland security issues relevant to the criminal justice system. Topics include investigating domestic and international terrorist events and groups, laws and regulations pertinent to homeland security issues, and techniques and policies for countering terrorist activities. Graduates will be prepared to enter the criminal justice professions in the public and private sectors or to engage in public responsibilities as investigators or first response supervisors to terrorist events. This program may be completed at the Beckley (WV) and Martinsburg (WV) campus as well as on-line.

*Career component electives must be approved in advance. Criminal justice courses are approved career component electives as well as courses in forensic science and social work. All CJ students are encouraged to complete an internship (CRJS 290) during the second year. CRJS 490 can be extended up to 12 hours of credit.
