Old Business

May 20th is the pick up for the clothing drive. Clothes will be accepted through Badge Day on May 7, 2017.

We are still in need of small outdoor ceiling fans for under the pavilion. Ed Viellette said he would take care of looking into and purchasing them.

The Halloween Trunk or Treat/Party was another success. The kids really love the tradition and we thank all those who participated.

New Business

Our next meeting is on May 7th with badge pick up after the meeting.

Looking into once again keeping the geese away from the lake. They are already here. We have a quote for weeds, and will have them taken care of. Also looking a weed killer for along the border of the lake.

Sand for the volleyball court is in the budget and will be ordered.

Discussion of protective coating for the bridge, boardwalk, and fence were discussed. Too many splinters, and boards are bending away from fence. There was a discussion led by Ed V about staining the fence and other maintenance needs. Objections were made by Jim Fisher and Michele Hammel as staining of fence should not be done at this time as this is wolmanized wood that needs to mature.

There was also a discussion from John L about the oil spill at a home on Rosemont into the lake and actions being taken by the town and DEP

Beach cleanup day is scheduled for Saturday, April 22nd (rain date April 23rd @ 9 am. The boards will be put back in.

Dam update – We are in the final stages of the lawsuit. We have won, but are waiting for the judge’s final ruling on the fees MGL is responsible to pay. Any fees incurred after the ruling, we are not responsible for. The state will need to inspect once we know what needs to be fixed. Town assessment will take a while. The board asked for a quote to start the upper lake. Insisted that we have a small window and would like construction to start in September 2017, and end in December. Everyone wants this to be over.Awaiting for the judge to determine the damages MGLA is entitled to from Upper Hudson and TOG.

The board will collect bids for maintenance of the lake – mowing and weeds need to be maintained. Volunteers do A LOT of work, but we still need help. Looking for a company that is bonded and insured. No dumping will be allowed. Many residents complained of dumping last summer. We cannot allow this to happen.

Health inspections will be scheduled. Port A John will be delivered, and phone will be hooked up.

The valve needs to be checked and possibly fixed/replaced.

John Lauritano reported about the most recent Lake Associations Meeting. The town anticipates a strong push towards the septic ordinance. All septic systems must be emptied every 3 years. If you have had yours done in the last 3 years, you are okay.

Meeting adjourned 7:45pm
