Softball Ontario – the Provincial Council comprised of incorporated organizations providing programs in amateur softball in Ontario, of which the association is one such incorporated organization.

BE IT RESOLVED THAT (Motion: State whether revision, addition, deletion, etc.)

ADDITION:
The Provincial Women’s Softball Association will be accountable to Softball Ontario and ultimately to the Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport (as amended) (the ministry) in regard to base and ministry funding programs.

RATIONALE

Required by ministry if we are to continue to be recognized for funding opportunities in their new sport recognition policy.

Board of directors – the affairs of the Association will be managed by a Board of up to eighteen (18) Directors comprised of twelve (12) elected Directors, five (5) appointed Directors and one (1) Immediate Past President.

Eligibility to Serve on the Board – Any individual who is an Individual Member of an Association, who is 18 years of age or older, who has the power under law to contract, who is not an employee or paid contractor of the Association, who supports the aims and objectives of the Association, and who agrees to abide by the By-Laws of the Association may be elected or appointed as a Director.

b) Nominations - Each Team Member, Association/League Member, or Director may propose nominees for election to the Board of Directors. Such nominees may include persons recommended to be considered for appointment as a Director.

Remove the words the last sentence and replace with the following
Such nominees must be submitted to the PWSA nominating chariman no later than 30days in advance of the Annual General Meeting
