Prince Cup

most progress with difficult dog.

This year goes to Rose and Alfie, Alfie is quite a handful but Rose is using her experience to gradually guide him into class. I am sure we will see Alfie really shine as he gets to understand and enjoy the boundaries of social activity.

Presto Trophy

Most progress with a rescue dog.

Rescue dogs can be shy or stubborn or aggressive due to their chequered past lives, in this case we have a dog with a combination for shy and stubborn resulting in a dog who can just sit down and refuse to move. So 10 out of 10 to Karen who refuses to give up and constantly adapts to new means to get him back on the move… Karen and Bailley

Best Junior handler , to a young handler with a considerable experience under her belt, this has been a year of mixed joy and sadness for Nina with the loss during the year of her mothers’ dog Jamie and recently Layla Ninas’ first obedience dog, Nina was trained initially by Gerry Hoare ( no relation) and when he died she came to our club. Layla took Nina to Crufts as a junior handler and enjoyed many years competing in obedience and agility competition until she retired. Recently Oscar arrived full of enthusiasm and is already showing potential for training. We hope Nina will have many years of enjoyment with her current three dogs
