Competition rules
With almost 160 years in the area of making and selling handmade drinks sets and decorative crystal, MOSER, a.s. announces the sixth annual “Ludwig Moser Award 2016”.
Designs can be sent in by 30 June 2016. A professional jury will subsequently select the competition winner from the designs.
The author of the winning design will receive CZK 15,000 and a weekly internship at the Moser Glassworks in Karlovy Vary in relation to creating the design. Selected designs and works will be presented in the Moser Sales Gallery at Na Příkopě 12 in Prague.
Competition participants:
The competition is intended for students at colleges, vocational schools and universities for glassmaking. The competition will be judged in two categories. The first category will be secondary schools and higher vocational schools, the second category will be universities.
Competition assignment:
In 2017 the MOSER glassworks will celebrate one hundred and sixty years since its foundation. Therefore this important anniversary offers the opportunity to create a uniquely original design for products, which, in your opinion, should not be missing in the glassworks’ product range.
It is entirely up to you as to whether it concerns drinks sets, decorative items or works of art, which the glass factory has yet to make.
The main criteria for evaluation will be originality, creativity and innovation.
The design should take advantage of the Moser Glassworks’ unique opportunities, which are a varied colour range of glass and the craftsmanship of the glass cutting and engraving with reference to tradition.
Closing date for the competition:
A contestant is required to duly fill in an application form and send it by e-mail or by post together with the designs by 30 June 2016 to: or to the following address: MOSER, a.s, Kpt. Jaroše 46/19, 360 06 Karlovy Vary.

Designs can be sent in an email attachment or in printed form together with a CD/DVD. A separate application form must be filled in for each design. The date of the postage stamp on the envelope is the deciding factor.
Announcement of the competition results:
Participants will be notified of the result of the competition by e-mail, it will likewise be published on the website in September 2016.
The awards ceremony for the competition winners will be held in Prague, the date is to be specified.
