More Than Enough

More Than Enough

(Numbers 11:5-6; 31-35 KJV)

We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick: But now our soul is dried away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes(Numbers 11:5-6).

And there went forth a wind from the LORD, and brought quails from the sea, and let them fall by the camp, as it were a day's journey on this side, and as it were a day's journey on the other side, round about the camp, and as it were two cubits high upon the face of the earth. And the people stood up all that day, and all that night, and all the next day, and they gathered the quails: he that gathered least gathered ten homers: and they spread them all abroad for themselves round about the camp. And while the flesh was yet between their teeth, ere it was chewed, the wrath of the LORD was kindled against the people, and the LORD smote the people with a very great plague. And he called the name of that place Kibrothhattaavah: because there they buried the people that lusted. And the people journeyed from Kibrothhattaavah unto Hazeroth; and abode at Hazeroth(Numbers 11:31-35).

anna is a Hebrew word. Its literal meaning is, "what is it" or "whatchmacallit."It was a miraculous gift from God. Manna is interesting stuff. It looked like little beads or seeds, and frost like. This manna came every morning except the Sabbath. Its taste was like honey, or fresh oil. It also could be made into many different dishes and the children of Israel lived on it for forty years.

It was a complete food with all its vitamins and minerals. This manna was God miracle food.Absolutely, this was God’s nourishing provision to see Israel though the wilderness experience. Today Jesus Christ is our provision. He’s God's nourishment our journey.

I am that bread of life.Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die(John 6:48-50).

Israel had just overcome a mighty victory of the Red Sea.Satan took a bad beating, but he didn’t give up. Insteadhe laid a devious trap into the hearts of some and he was able to plant the seeds of discontent.

God was providing their every need, and Israel still complained. In fact, we as a people of God need to be on guard lest we fall into the same trap.

I.Notice when the Trap was Laid:

After a great victory!

Satan reserves his most devious, sneaking, cunning attacks for when we are reveling in a spiritual victory. When you have a victory don't dare relax. Don't get complacent. Don't think you have conquered Satan. Don’t quit doing the things that brought you the victory. Pray when in battle, and pray just as fervently in victory.
