There will be a 30-45minute break in middle of session. Meet management will advise upon receiving entries.

Sunday November 23rd

Session 2- Warm up 8:00-8:55 am

Competition Starts at 9:00 am

There will be a 30-45minute break in middle of session.

Meet Management will advise upon receiving entries.

Program times may change at the discretion of Meet Management. All participating clubs will be notified of any changes to the program. Coaches will be notified prior to the meet of any changes to the specifications of this meet package, unless such changes can be dealt with at the commencement of the meet without disadvantage to the swimmer.

Eligibility: Open to all swimmers registered as “Winter Competitive Swimmers” with Swimming/Natation Canada (SNC) or FINA affiliates.

PARA swimmers who are registered with a FINA or IPC affiliate are eligible to

compete and will be seeded according to their entry time.

Age Group placement will be determined by using the age of the swimmer on November 22nd, 2014

Competition: Current SNC Rules will govern the competition unless otherwise specified in this meet package

Males and Females will compete separately

All events will be swum as timed finals

All events will be pre-seeded according to entry times and will be swum slowest to fastest except the 1500 free which will be swum fastest to slowest.

Meet Management reserves the right to swim the 400FR, and 1500 FR events with two swimmers per lane.

Entries must have an “A” time to qualify for the 1500 FR events per the Swim Sask Time Standards 2013-2016. For the 10 & Under, 11 & 12 girls the “A” standard is the 12 & Under Girls Short Course time standard. For the 11 & Under, 12 & 13 boys the “A” standard is the 13 & Under Boys Short Course time standard. If entries in the 1500 FR exceed 24 per gender/event the Saskatchewan “AA” time standard will be used as the dequalifying time and swimmers with an entry time faster than the “AA” time standard will not be allowed to swim that event. Meet Management will notify the person from each club that submits the entries in advance of the start of the meet so that an alternate event can be entered.

Heats may be combined as necessary.

The FINA Start shall be used for all events as per SNC rule SW 4.

Except for Backstroke events, swimmers will remain in the water at the completion of their swim to allow the next heat to get under way. Swimmers will stay to the side of their respective lane against the lane rope.

Scratches: Scratches from heats simply create empty lanes, as there shall be no re-seeding. Scratches from heats may be made at any time without penalty except for loss of entry fee. Clubs are requested to report any scratches no later than 30 minutes prior to the start of that day’s events.

Coaches are encouraged to provide scratches to the Clerk of Courses as soon as possible so that the Clerk may try to accommodate the deck entry of swimmers.

Protests: As per SNC Rule CGR9.2.

Coaches Meeting: Coaches meetings will occur on Saturday, November 22nd at 9:15 am in the office and on Sunday November 23rd at 8:15 am.

Entries: Each swimmer will be limited to a maximum of six(6) individual events. Maximum number of swims in any one day is four (4) individual events.

This meet will be limited to 250 swimmers.

All entries should be submitted with times; however, NTs’ will be accepted and will be seeded last.

All entry times must be in short course meters. Converted times will be accepted.

A meet entry report of entries MUST be emailed to the entries chairperson Brenda Foster

SNC registration numbers MUST be submitted for each swimmer. Meet Management will not be responsible for obtaining missing registration numbers. Entries submitted without a registration number will not be accepted.

Classification numbers for Para swimmers must accompany entries.

Deck Entries: Deck entries will be allowed at the discretion of the meet Manager and the Clerk of Course. Deck entries must be submitted to the Clerk of Course no later than 45 minutes prior to the start of the session in which the event is to be swum. Deck entries will require a payment of $18.00/individual swim and $22.00/Relay. Payment will be required prior to entry into the event.

Deck entries will be classified as exhibition swims as per SNC rule CSW 3.6.5

Awards: Ribbons will be awarded for the first to eight in all events in all age categories. (10 and under girls and 11 and under for boys will be awarded as a group)

Results: Results will be posted on the Swim/Natation Canada web site.

Female results will be reported in the following age groups:

10 & Under, 11 & 12, 13 & 14, and 15 & Over

Male results will be reported in the following age groups

11 & Under, 12 & 13, 14 & 15, and 16 & Over

Request for Official Splits

As per SNC Swimming Rule CSW 13.3.1.1 - Meet Management requires, that a coach wishing to rely on a time achieved by a swimmer for an interval shorter than the total distance of the event, must advise the Referee and Meet Management prior to the commencement of the event in question will be held. Official Split requests must be submitted to the Meet Manager a minimum of ½ hour prior to the start of the session that the event is being held. The Official Split Request Form is available through Meet Management or by downloading from the SNC site at:http://www.swimsask.ca/management.htm

Such official split shall then be reported as a separate event in the meet results.

Warm Up Safety: SNC WARM UP PROCEDURES WILL BE IN EFFECT AT THIS MEET, as per the Swimming/Natation Canada, Competition Warm-Up Safety Procedures (June 27/2014)(see attached document)

Diving starts shall not be made during the warm-up period when two-way swimming is in progress, except during the final 30 minutes of the warm-up period. During this period of time swimmers will be allowed to dive and swim in one direction in lanes 1 and 8 respectively.

Safety marshals will be on the pool deck during the warm-up period.

Kick boards and pull buoys will be allowed during the warm up period. Hand paddles and flippers will not be allowed.

General Information:

Any changes to the meet format will be provided to the coaches at the Coaches meeting.

Team spaces will not be assigned. Tables and chairs will be set up along the west side of the pool deck for coaches. The space that each team uses will be the responsibility of that team. Teams are expected to keep the areas that they use clean and tidy.

The Lawson Aquatic Centre, and the Regina Y’s Men’s Marlins and Moose Jaw Flying Fins Swim Clubs will not accept responsibility for any lost or stolen items. It is the responsibility of each swimmer entered into the swim meet to ensure that their personal belongings are stored in a secure manner.

Visiting teams are responsible for the conduct of their swimmers. Inappropriate behavior at the pool may result in disciplinary action by the meet management.

RYMM and MJKFF reserve the right to sell merchandise on the pool deck.

Glass containers and breakables are not allowed on the pool deck.

Sunflower seeds are also not allowed on the pool deck.

Deck changing will not be allowed as per Swim Saskatchewan Policy.

SWIMMING CANADA

COMPETITION WARM-UP SAFETY PROCEDURES

Meet Management for all sanctioned Canadian swimming competition must ensure the following safety procedures are applied. It is incumbent on coaches, swimmers, and officials to comply with these procedures during all scheduled warm-up periods. Coaches are requested to encourage swimmers to cooperate with Safety Marshals.

GENERAL WARM-UP:

·  Swimmers must enter the water FEET FIRST in a cautious manner, entering from a start or turn end only and from a standing or sitting position.

·  Running on the pool deck and running entries into the pool tank are prohibited.

·  Meet Management may designate the use of sprint or pace lanes during the scheduled warm-up time. Any such lane usage must be communicated either in pre-competition handout, announcement or deck signage.

·  Diving starts shall be permitted only in designated sprint lanes.

·  Only one-way swimming from the start end of sprint lanes is permitted.

·  Notices or barriers must be placed on starting blocks to indicate no diving during warm-up.

EQUIPMENT:

·  Kick Boards, Pull-Buoys, Ankle Bands, and Snorkels are permitted for use in the scheduled warm-up time.

·  Meet Management may permit use of tubing or cord assisted sprinting in designated lanes and during specific times of the warm-up only. Coaches are responsible for equipment reliability and use.

·  Hand paddles, drag chutes, and flippers / fins are not permitted during any warm-up at any time.

VIOLATIONS:

·  Swimmers witnessed by a Safety Marshal diving or entering the water in a dangerous fashion will be scratched without warning from their first event following the warm-up period in which the violation occurred.

·  In the case of a second offense during the same competition the swimmer will be removed from the competition in its entirety. A provincial disciplinary action or report may be filed.

SAFETY MARSHALS:

The Safety Marshal is a trained position designated by Meet Management. Safety Marshals shall:

·  Be visible by safety vest

·  Be situated at each end of the competition tank and when applicable, similarly situated in designated warm-up tanks when pre-competition warm-ups are scheduled.

·  Actively monitor all scheduled warm-up periods.

·  Ensure participants comply with warm-up safety procedures and report violations to the Referee.

PARA-SWIMMER NOTIFICATION:

Coaches are requested to notify Safety Marshals of any Para-swimmers participating in warm-ups where necessary and at the coach’s discretion.

The following statement must appear in all Swimming Canada sanctioned meet information and posted notices:

“SWIMMING CANADA WARM-UP COMPETITION SAFETY PROCEDURES WILL BE IN EFFECT AT THIS MEET.”
