Agenda
- Welcome/Roll Call
- Esparza, Ayub, Cadena, Brandon, Dockens, Nava, Buenrostro, Gonzalez, Mercado, Tapia, Talamantes
- EPAC (Dr. Mercado)—Mr. Moreno discussed new process for ordering Apple apps (10 step process) people should get together to purchase apps, requestor submits an electronic order with name, email, apps requested, and statement verifying that app is made for educational use, inventory tag #; process is instantaneous and there is no set limit; get all apps approved (whether we purchase or they are free); TAC—Technology Action Committee looking for new members; principal can send a representative (Mr. Dockens); TAC calendar set for the year; long term planning for replacing technology should be on a 4-6 refresh cycle since technology ages out quickly; SIT issues—cafeteria issues discussed
- TAC—introduced all members; importance of attendance stressed; Blackboard use to communicate with parents; next meeting—smaller projects coming up and how to share at the campus level
- When new computers get here they should not be on VDI; we might get some help from the district or from Title I in order to ensure all classrooms get new computers connected to the IWB; can we downsize workbooks or subscriptions (etc) to get some more funds to purchase computers. Campuses are encouraged to self-support in order to purchase new technologies. Long term goal—every classroom will have a new computer connected to the IWB. SPED—each class will get 3 new computers. Some funding sources can be tweaked to include new computers. Printing—work orders placed to fix printing issues; some issues experienced are network issues. Network printers should have stayed in teacher options. Juan Jaime says all teachers should have the 3 network printers available to them by today. Teachers with the greatest need will receive new computers first, then we will switch to a lottery system.
- If printing, print one copy then go to copy machines to make copies as you are standing next to the printer. If papers are not printing, adjust size of paper to fit the paper we have. Printer only prints PDF and jPEG files.
- Empty downloads folder in order to help your computer run a bit faster.
