  1. The United Nations procurement system

The United Nations, including its many affiliated agencies, represents an international market of over US$ 9 billion for suppliers of virtually all types of goods and services. Such a market is well worth your serious consideration; it provides an excellent springboard to introduce your goods and services to other countries and regions.

The UN Global Marketplace acts as an important procurement tool to shortlist suppliers for competitive bidding. Its database of active and potential suppliers is available to all UN and World Bank procurement personnel, and is the main supplier database of 15 UN organizations. In order to register, the supplier must complete the initial registration process on Please note that even though registration on the UN Global Marketplace is open to all procurement staff, some organizations do have their own supplier database. For links to other UN organizations please refer to and

  1. U.S. public administration (federal, state, local) procurement contracts

New York City

  1. An enormous part of the City's work is performed through contracts with private sector firms and not-for-profit groups. Each year the City procures more than $15 billion in goods and services from thousands of vendors. In order to be a vendor for New York City`s public procurement services, a company or organization should complete a Vendor Enrollment Application.
  2. Once an organization completes and submits an application, the organization is added to the City's centralized bidders / proposers lists for the products and services they are interested in selling to the City. City Agencies use these lists to notify vendors about upcoming procurement opportunities.
  3. Bidders lists are established mailing lists of vendors which have registered with the City to sell specific products/services. For most procurement above $5,000, the PPB Rules require agencies to send notices of upcoming contracting opportunities, at a minimum, either to all or to a random sub-sample of the vendors contained in applicable bidders lists. Foreign vendors can sign up for placement on bidders lists--free of charge--by filling out the NYC-FMS Vendor Application which can be requested by calling the Vendor Enrollment Center at +1(212) 857-1680. When you use this application, over 80 City agencies will be able to access your information.

(

  1. The "City Record". Most of these procurements are also advertised in the City Record On-line and the printed "City Record," which is available in most public libraries.
  2. The City Record On-Line (CROL) is the electronic version of the Procurement Notices appearing in The City Record printed version. The CROL is posted by the Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS). It includes information from one section of the printed publication -- the Solicitations and Awards. The City Record newspaper is published each business day. It is your source for public hearings, agency rule changes, court notices, procurement actions, contract awards, and other information. To subscribe to the full printed publication, go to our subscription form.
  3. AGENCIES USING THEIR OWN VENDOR APPLICATIONS
  4. The agencies listed below are not subject to the PPB Rules, do not use the NYC-FMS Vendor Enrollment Application and, in some cases, post their solicitations on their own web sites.
