THE HOLIDAY HOUSE DECORATING CONTEST

The Montgomery State and Local government class/Montgomery Borough would like to thank all those who participated in the Holiday house-decorating contest. Judging was done on Dec. 19th; the town looked festive with all the lights. Since this was the first year for this contest we are hoping that more people will get involved in the future. Many people had their houses decorated beautifully, especially along Montgomery Street. The sad part is these individuals didn’t fill out a registration sheet and drop it off so their house could be judged. The following houses were judged and the winner of the holiday house-decorating contest goes as follows:

First Place- Dennis Manley

(47 E. Houston Ave.)

Second Place- Tom & Sandy Gray

(181 Montgomery Street)

Third Place- Shawn Marie Gawblick

(30 So. Main Street #2)

As a class we would also like to thank the following businesses who help out with the various prize donations. Listed below are the businesses that deserve special thanks for making this contest successful:

Broad Street Car Wash

Station House Restaurant

Original Italian Pizza (OIP)

Hulziser’s Car Dealership

Thad’s Restaurant

American Legion

Riverside Bar and Restaurant

Tickles Music Shop

Thanks to all and have a great holiday season. Keep your spirit throughout this coming year and we will be looking forward to viewing the beauty next holiday season. Maybe next year we can do both House decorating and possible door decorating.

Thank you Montgomery Borough residents for a very colorful, holiday house show.

BROAD STREET CAROLING

A big THANK YOU to Mrs. McNear, Mrs. Carpenter and the members of Virtuoso. The weather was a little unfriendly with the rain but it didn’t seem to affect the students. The individuals on Board Street who were home hopefully enjoyed the caroling as a group, we witnessed many different emotions that made this night feel very special to everyone. Hopefully this is something we can continue and maybe get more people involved in spreading Christmas joy to everyone in the Borough of Montgomery.
